Description

A well-presented detached house located in a residential cul-de-sac, approximately 10-15 minutes’ walk from Dartmouth's shops, restaurants and tea rooms, within easy reach of the River Dart. Blackpool Sands beach is just a 5-10 minute drive whilst Woodlands Theme Park three miles or so away.

From the driveway, a few steps lead to the main entrance and ground floor hallway with access to the cloakroom and living area, kitchen and utility room and stairs leading up to the first bedrooms and bathrooms.

The modern kitchen is fitted with electric hob and oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher and opens in to the utility room. Door out to the terrace. Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining area seating six comfortably. The light and attractive sitting area has a double sofa, two armchairs, flat screen TV and a feature stone fireplace with sliding French doors that lead out to the terrace and garden.

Four first floor bedrooms in total. The master bedroom has a wooden-framed King-size bed and en suite shower room. The second bedroom has a double bed whilst the third and fourth bedrooms are both singles (suitable for children only). There is a family bathroom with panelled bath shower (over), w.c. and wash-hand basin.

Outside, to the side and rear of the property, is a large area of paved terrace with table and chairs extending out to a large, mature garden. Parking for 1-2 cars on a private driveway.

The property was very comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed our week there.

The only minor comment I would make is that the toilet seat in the en-suite bedroom needs fixing properly. It moves from side to side considerably and requires attention. I noticed this when drying my leg and nearly lost my balance.

We keep returning to this property for our Dartmouth breaks.

Very comfortable house, lots of space. Lovely garden at the back. Good parking. The walk into town is steep but so picturesque down the steps of Browns Hill with the profusion of pots of flowers and pretty little houses. It's a special corner of Dartmouth most visitors wouldn't see. The walk back up is good for cardiovascular exercise! But sometimes we get the local number 90 bus that runs every half hour. Ideal if you need to carry some shopping back. You're also only a 10 minute drive further up the hill to Sainsburys.

Amberley is a home-from-home, with everything you need, situated on a steep hill overlooking Dartmouth and across to Kingswear where you might spy a steam train!

The hills are not for the fainthearted (or those with mobility issues) as they really are steep! Amberly has a beautiful, well kept garden to the rear, with sitting area and parasol for shade. Dartmouth is a lovely place to explore with its quirky, indie shops and cafes. Sitting by the river watching the boats and ferries is a delightful way to while away the time. Beware, the pesky seagulls as they can be ferocious. Also, Dartmouth is a lovely base to explore further afield. In all it really is a lovely house. The one thing i would say, as our summers get ever hotter and humid, would be to supply portable fans, especially for the night time, and be most welcome. Yes, we can keep windows and curtains closed during the day, but the night times can get stifling. Lastly, thank you for the Welcome packs as they were much appreciated. Till next year!
