Run by the same family since 1977, it has a cosy traditional feel, complete with a thatched roof, low ceilings and exposed wooden beams. Take a short drive past Kingsbridge and visit the South Devon Chilli Farm. After featuring on Country File, Gardner’s World and being Jamie Oliver’s chilli grower of choice, this chilli farm has shot to national fame. The farm has a shop and café where you can sample the variety of sauces, preserves and their infamous chilli chocolate and then buy some chilli plants at the shop to take home as a unique memento of your holiday in a Thurlestone cottage.
