Many youngsters like to have their own space as just much as we adults do, so a spacious holiday homes with a separate snug or playroom can make the perfect base for a family on a self-catering break. Whilst the adults can revel in the luxury of this rural retreat, the kids can enjoy their own hideaway too. A superb, recently-converted barn in the village of Sherford near Kingsbridge, Higher Hill Barn is a fantastic base for large family groups. Mostly reverse-level with four of the five bedrooms on the ground floor, it’s a truly unique property. Criss-crossing beams and lovely countryside views from the first-floor living area quickly make it clear why this design was chosen, and the result is a wonderfully sociable reception area where families and friends can gather.

Situated in the woodland above North Sands, it’s in an ideal spot for access to both the+ North Sands and South Sands beaches as well as the passenger ferry into Salcombe.
There’s plenty of space for everyone to spread out, with five sumptuously furnished bedrooms (three en suite), a beautifully furnished sitting room and kitchen-diner, a useful utility room and some lovely outside space.
