OK.

Will start with the good point(s), the location is amazing and so peaceful. First impression the description of property is not accurate ..talk of walk down to property on lavender sided path:- one bush at the bottom. Lit path down to the property:- most of the lamps had been removed and taped up..ok I know in the grand scheme of things may sound petty but this was a top priced property. Nice sitting out area, a bit of shelter would have been nice (one umbrella which was rather unstable), suggest an awning maybe, not only would that offer shelter from the sun (yes we were there in ‘that heatwave’) but also from all the bits dropping from the trees. Inside:-various cupboard doors/outside door not fitting (one cupboard hanging off in a couple of instances) great to have air con in the bedroom and other fans dotted around. Instruction books for appliances:- we could only find two and those not in an obvious spot. Local info higgledy piggledy in a box…a folder with all this in would have been much appreciated, as would notes about recycling. Fridge was so iced up (must have been like it for ages), it was barely functioning - we did speak with Julia about this and we turned it off with towels around when we left in order for it to defrost before next guests arrived. Generally we got the impression the accommodation was ‘sad’, and had had little maintenance done in recent years and could do with a bit of tlc. As we left early we were unable to speak to our hosts, who were charming, but might like to have a good look at ‘things’.

Would not hesitate to go back. Owner was welcoming and very helpful. The peace and quiet was very restful. A break ‘away from it all’! Beautifully furnished-

This has to be the ultimate country retreat.

Nestled in what was originally planted as an arboretum, you are surrounded by mature trees and beautiful shrubs. A haven for wildlife, the only sound is birdsong. Pure tranquillity! The lodge itself is perfect and the owners very friendly and helpful. A place you'll want to return to again and again.

We really enjoyed staying at the lodge, it is tucked away offering privacy and is in a beautiful quiet location with lovely sunrises and the company of birds, squirrels and rabbits.

The location also has good access to Kingsbridge, Totnes and Dartmouth, and benefits from good parking and friendly and helpful hosts. Hope to return again one day.

Fantastic location, very quiet and peaceful.

A great place to recharge your batteries. Mark was very helpful on arrival and offered ongoing help if required, he was not at all intrusive. The accommodation was great and we really enjoyed our holiday.

Lovely little lodge for two cocooned in nature in a peaceful location yet so accessible to the areas attractions.

Lovely owner on hand should you need him, gave us some good information on where to visit and eat. Lots of thoughtful touches such as coffee, fizz, cookies, honey, jam, milk and a freshly baked crusty loaf of bread and more. Above and beyond. Well stocked with games, music and DVD's plus a good TV. Lovely bathroom, beautifully furnished. Owners care and have pride. A lovely retreat after a day out.

We had a lovely week in a beautiful cottage.

The owner, Mark, was so helpful when we arrived taking all our baggage down the path for us (my husband has Parkinsons) and he came and helped us when we left. We had a lovely time watching the birds at the bird feeders just outside the cottage. Altogether a wonderful relaxing week.

WOW!

What an absolute gem of a property to go on holiday to. We had lots of plans to visit many places with a full itinerary until we arrived and went into Meadow Lodge. Instantly, we felt completely relaxed with this stunningly beautiful property with incredible surrounds including nature and wildlife in abundance. We actually just spent our days recharging our batteries and just enjoying the peace and quiet. We had a lovely lunch at The Cott Inn, but make sure you book as it is popular. The sun terrace is a real delight. The owners, Julia and Mark, were a joy to spend time talking to. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel extremely welcome - so much so that we are going back in October. I feel like I am already counting the days until our next battery recharge! HIGHLY recommended.

A perfect bolt hole if you want to get away from it all.

Beautiful peaceful setting. The Lodge is so well appointed and very cosy and very tastefully furnished. The welcome by the hosts was second to none.

Meadow Lodge is located down a long drive and is very private. Surrounded by lovely gardens and wildlife. Owners on-hand and friendly, but not intrusive. Would love to go back.

This is a fantastic property - really peaceful and well equipped - out in the countryside but close enough to towns and attractions- so nice to sit on the deck and watch the wildlife and sunsets

Just perfect, Mark couldn’t have been more helpful.

Relaxing and restful place, the silence is wonderful as the only sounds are from the wildlife.

If you are lucky you will see deer in the garden and pheasants are always present. Cosy and comfortable lodge in a remote location with far-reaching country views.

Superb place and accommodation!

A beautiful property in a gorgeous location.

Mark the host was great, after learning we were delayed due to problems on the route down due to flooding, he had switched on lights and heating and was waiting for us to help us unload and move in. The property is a wonderful place to chill and relax, which we did with everything to hand. The pheasants visited daily, and whilst we had rain every day we left relaxed and recharged.

The best thing about Meadow Lodge is the absolute peace and quiet (apart from the bird life).

The lodge looks beautiful, and has plenty of equipment etc. It’s also spacious and full of daylight. The location is convenient, being a short drive to several towns.

An amazing location, we could not have wished for a better week, the cottage was perfect for a relaxing week away.

Everything you need , comfortable avd lovely hosts. We will be back !

Meadow Lodge is the perfect retreat, with it’s tranquil and stunning surroundings.

It’s set in a great location, with lots to see and do within a short distance. We had everything we needed, the lodge is well equipped & very comfortable. There is plenty of outdoor seating with lots of wildlife and nature to enjoy in all it’s glory. Mark and Julia were wonderful hosts, very attentive but not intrusive… a lovely couple! Meadow Lodge was a rare find in a tranquil location offering compleat peace quiet and relaxation.

It was beautifully appionted and very tastefully decorated. Lovely soft towels and bath robes. There was lots of wildlife and wild birds in the extensive grounds. The location is perfect with plenty of country walks and lovely places to visit within a fifteen minute drive. Dartmouth and Kingsbride were particulalrly beatiful, to name just two. The welcome pack with bubbly, bread, milk, jams, tea coffee, lots of goodies, was a very welcome start to our stay. Julia and Mark were delightful and had lots of local knowledge about the local area and eating out. Look forward to returning soon. We would definately reccomend staying here. Anne & Bob

Brilliant lodge, secluded, surrounded by deciduous woodland and shrubs.

Saw a deer, pheasants, squirrels, swifts, robins and many others! It is a bit of a walk from the car to the lodge for the older/infirm folk, but Mark and Julia could not have been more helpful. Super holiday and our many thanks to them both. Geoff and Pam Pearce.

Lovely lodge, with every detail thought of.

A wonderful place to relax and get away from everything.

The site, cottage and garden were superb.

It was so remote and so quiet, Just what we wanted. The wildlife both animals and birds we found delightful just watching. The weather wasn’t ideal but it didn’t matter. Satisfied all our wishes. The owner too was incredibly helpful. We were so pleased we will be going back next year.

A very comfortable lodge with lovely furnishings and good quality equipment, in a great location.

The lovely hosts have given a lot of thought to making sure guests get the most out of their stay. The welcome hamper was super and certainly a great starter pack.

Short break perfection.

3 days spent at this lovely lodge. On arrival, we were met by the host who showed us around. Total seclusion in luxury. The exterior is a haven for wildlife and fauna, with a large area for outdoor relaxing (weather permitting). Inside was tasteful luxury with everything you could desire for a short break. Especially nice were all of the added extras (fresh flowers, bread, honey and jam, a bottle of fizz, tea, coffee, milk, cereal…..). A definite must stay for couples in this part of the country

We loved everything about this beautiful lodge and its setting.

We could not have had a better place to while away our time in what turned out to be a week of torrential downpours! It was an absolutely perfect home-from-home with a very welcoming and friendly host.

The cottage is about as close to perfect as you can get .

The view of the trees from inside the cottage feels like you are actually up high in amongst them ...its quite idyllic . The attention to detail of the furnishing is wonderful too

A perfect place to stay, our hosts were very helpful in pointing out many places to visit.

There is such a lot to do but sometimes the draw of the verandah in the sunshine and the tranquillity of the surroundings is too much to leave!

A wonderful peaceful place to stay that delivered on every front

An ideal quiet location with interesting wildlife.

The lodge is tastefully decorated and furnished with all the necessary facilities and equipment that you need. It was the thoughtful touches like the welcome wine, flowers, eggs and milk in the fridge and Mark dropping off the sunday paper and hot pain au chocolat on the sunday that made the difference. Also Mark was very helpful in resolving any queries and suggesting places to visit or get a meal. Highly recommended for a beautiful location and comfortable lodge.

My Wife and I have just enjoyed the most wonderful of times in this beautiful lodge.

What an absolute piece of luck we had to find this sunning location in South Devon. Relax and unwind in what is the most tranquil piece of countryside you could ever wish for. Greeted every part of the day by Mother Nature and all her friends. From Deer to Pheasant it was such a delight to enjoy their company. Our stay was just so fabulous, the weather, the places we visited each day and then to come back each evening to complete solitude. Our Hosts were just the very best, absolutely wonderful people who care so very much that you enjoy your holiday. Would we come again? YOU BET!!!

The lodge is furnished to a very high standard with a lovely decking area overlooking a picturesque woodland setting with lots of birds in and around the shrubs and trees. A very relaxing holiday.

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Meadow Lodge.

The Lodge was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We sat on the sunny verandah watching the birds and listening to the beautiful birdsong. From Meadow Lodge it wasn't far to Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Totnes. We would certainly visit again and recommend to family and friends. Hosts Julia and Mark are excellent offering advice on places to visit and recommendations of pubs/ restaurants for food , they really do want you to enjoy your stay. The decoration of the lodge was very tasteful, the colours blended in with the surrounding country side, they had made the most of the stunning views with the layout.. A lovely welcome park & card was left for our arrival with all the basic items required and a bottle of wine, this jester was very sweet. Certainly recommend the lodge

We had a lovely stay at Meadow Lodge over new year.

Julia and Mark were very attentive hosts, providing us with lots of info on the local area (restaurants, things to do etc), settling us into the property when we arrived late after a very long drive and were always on standby if we had questions. Meadow Lodge is a very comfortable cottage with absolutely everything you need for a wonderful tracking stay. Waking up to the sounds of nature, watching deer roam past the windows as you enjoy your coffee was all magical. Would highly recommend for anyone really looking to escape.

This place is so magical, tranquil and perfectly equipped for a getaway from all the madness in our daily lives.

The owners are genuinely interested in making sure your stay is as comfortable as they can make it. The surrounding area is so beautiful for romantic walks, also wonderful places to eat and drink, really short drives to towns like Totnes and Dartmouth and is dotted in between picturesque villages. I can’t believe that anyone could or would be disappointed with this delightful gem.

The location was great with so many places to visit within close proximity. A beautiful part of Devon. Mark and Julia are great hosts and made you feel very welcome. They had some great tips for places to visit and restaurants to eat at (The Cott Inn was fabulous). It was also much appreciated that there were essentials like bread, eggs, milk, honey and wine when we arrived! Would highly recommend Meadow Lodge and would definitely return again.

Mark and Julia were great hosts and really wanted us to have a relaxing break.

Accommodation is super and there a welcome pack of tea ,coffee, milk,honey,jam and much much more. A bottle of champagne was also a lovely surprise. Recommendations for restaurants and visits were spot with the Cott Inn at Dartington a particular favourite. All the main sightseeing spots are only a short drive away so it’s location is ideal but better not to use sat nav to get to them as it takes you down narrow lanes and main road alternatives are available and are much easier. A great find and hope to return.

Everything we needed for a relaxing & restful holiday was provided in abundance.

When we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the tranquility - the owls, the birds, the trees and the abundance of wildlife added to our escape. We had magical sunrises and enjoyed the fresh air and the peaceful garden. This retreat has been so carefully thought through, from the detailed decor to the welcoming food basket. All the recommendations for places to eat and walk and villages to see, all had a wow factor to them. We felt truly welcomed by Mark and Julia and we have no doubt their venture will be a great success!

And vitally just as advertised the accommodation was of an impressively high standard. Mark and Julia were very considerate hosts as they also laid on some extra seasonal touches such as a twinkling Christmas tree and decorative Christmas lights above the porch. We also appreciated the delightful welcome pack of goodies. Despite the less than perfect weather we had plenty of entertainment with loads of interesting books, games and bulging shelves of DVDs to watch on a giant TV. Also there was great internet access and a more than sufficient mobile signal. What's more Meadow Lodge is conveniently situated with the towns of Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Totnes and the stunning Devon coast all within easy reach.'

Meadow Lodge at Seawardstone is a hidden gem set deep in the Devon countryside but with five-star comfort and facilities.

It’s ideal for couples seeking seclusion and tranquillity, while still having easy access to Devon’s other attractions (e.g. Dartmouth, Totnes, several National Trust properties, etc.). A single storey construction, with external decking overlooking a wooded valley filled with attractive trees (a former arboretum), it is convenient, comfortable and has all mod cons. Mark and Julia were perfect hosts, friendly and helpful, and knowledgeable about the local wildlife (birds, butterflies, moths, deer, rabbits) that also enjoy Meadow Lodge and its surroundings.
