Property was very clean and comfortable, with all necessary facilities provided.

Very quiet and peaceful. Perfect base for a very enjoyable stay in Devon. Would highly recommend it. Unfortunately, didn't get to meet the owners as they were away.

A beautiful cottage in lovely location with stunning views over the Meadow and Dartmoor. We had everything we needed to stay there for 3 weeks and it was situated near some lovely beaches and 3 fantastic places to visit in Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. We would not hesitate to stay there again in the future. The weather was very hot for all our stay and the Fan that was supplied was a bonus to keep us cool at night.

A very comfortable, well-maintained and spacious cottage for 2 in a beautiful, quiet setting with uninterrupted views across to Dartmoor.

We very much appreciated being able to eat and drink in the sheltered courtyard as well as at the front of the cottage. It is well served by local amenities with a good pub, shop and garage down the road in addition to being well situated for exploring South Hams. Ann and Phil are very welcoming, caring and helpful hosts without being intrusive. We have stayed many times, love it there and highly recommend it. We shall return! Geoff and Kay

Clean and well appointed.

Excellent accomodation with fantastic views over Dartmoor. The courtyard for sitting outside was limited. Due to the abnormal cold weather we needed the heating which worked well. Kitchen utensils were sufficient but the frying pan was end of life!.

The cottage was in a beautyfull location with views right over to Dartmoor ,the owners who live Nextdoor was very welcoming , it was modernly furnished and so peaceful .

The cottage is very comfortable and clean, and well laid out. The location very relaxing and idyllic, and the owners Anne & Phil very friendly and helpful. We found the location to be in good reach of all that South Devon has to offer, the coastal towns, country locations and Dartmoor. With the bonus of hot weather during our stay and also falling on school holiday term, Devon was busy but Meadow View provides a great retreat and tranquility at the end of each day exploring. Highly recommend this location for couples.

). Furnishing comfortable and kitchen crockery and utensils very good (even a milk jug - though scissors would have been useful). Friendly welcome on arrival and overall a relaxing and very pleasant place to stay. Definitely intend to return.

My wife and I enjoyed a 7 night stay at Meadow View recently.

We were warmly welcomed by owners Anne and Phil who are very kind and clearly committed to ensuring guests needs and expectations are met. We found Meadow View an outstanding and peaceful accommodation, we appreciated the cleanliness and facilities provided. Meadow View was an excellent base for our exploration of southern Devon. We mostly used our small hire car and also enjoyed several short train trips from nearby Ivybridge. The California Inn is a pub ‘just down the road’ and offers excellent meals. We also enjoyed coffee and breakfast at the friendly “Ring Feeder” cafe and shop (1 Mile). Thank you again Anne and Phil for providing the lovely Meadow View for our memorable stay.

If you’re looking for a place to relax with outstanding views this is the place.

Cosy and comfortable and in the prefect peaceful location of exploring the South Hams area. Stunning countryside views from the property make it the perfect place for couples to stay. Cottage in a beautiful location with wonderful views which justify the name! Spotlessly clean. Comfortable new sofas. Courtyard very private and a suntrap. Thanks to the owners for making us welcome with a phone call even though they were on holiday themselves. Hope to return in a couple of years.

Modern, attractive and spotlessly clean. Fully equipped with everything you would need for a relaxing and stress free break. Beautifully furnished to a high quality. I loved the chair with a view from the bedroom window. Stunning meadowland views and beyond to open countryside at the front of the property and private, enclosed courtyard to the rear. Meadow View is in a beautiful and peaceful location just outside Modbury; the perfect area for visiting beaches, local towns and tourist attractions. Our hosts Phil and Anne were so lovely; friendly and helpful. We throughly enjoyed our stay at Meadow View, we have no problem recommending it and we will definitely be looking to stay there again in the future. 5 stars from us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fabulous stay at Meadow View.

Beautiful cottage clean, spacious and attractively furnished with everything we could possibly need for a great stay. We slept well and enjoyed waking up to the sight of the stunning Dartmoor hills the property overlooked and visiting deer. Phil and Ann our hosts, were very friendly and on hand if needed but otherwise unobtrusive. South Devon has a wealth of gorgeous places to visit, our favourites were - Dartmouth where we had a great River Cruise on a steamer and explored the shops; South and North Sands and Salcombe- slightly scary drive down to coast, very narrow roads but you do get used to it!! Sea Tractor ride at South Sands and rock-pooling at North. We walked from North Sands to Salcombe town - about 15 minutes - (take change for car park at North Sands - very patchy signal); We took foot passenger ferry from Salcombe (after crabbing with the grandchildren who stayed nearby!) across to Portlemouth to the most beautiful Sandy beaches; Blackpool Sands (it is stones not sand, you’ll need sea-shoes) but great place for water sports; We also ventured to Cornwall’s Eden Project at about 1hour 15mins as we wouldn’t be that close again - great day out for all; Steam train ride from Totnes to Buckfastleigh and return - 120 year old train! Lovely knowledgeable volunteers - beautiful short trip to edge of Dartmoor. On return easy walk (albeit uphill) to Totnes Castle and some very nice shops. We walked our legs off, weather was kind and had a lovely very memorable week - thank you Phil and Ann and beautiful South Devon

Well we had a lovely time in Modbury Devon the cottage was amazing well equipped with everything the bedroom was cosy and the bed very comfortable, the owners Phil and Anne are absolutely lovely people very friendly and on hand if you need them and introduced themselves very early upon our arrival, the only thing we would say is that it is a little bit out of the way but still accessible.

Clean, comfortable, well-equipped, spacious for two, wonderfully situated and owned by a couple, Ann and Phil, who really do care that you have a good stay.

Outdoor seating in a private courtyard and at the front of the property. Set in rural Devon and also quite close to the coast there is plenty of good walking and Modbury, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth are all worth a visit. The National Trust is represented at Greenacres (Agatha Christie's home) and Coleton Fishacre (our favourite NT garden) and there are two well run steam railways in the area so plenty to do and see. Super cottage in a super location, that's why we keep going back.

Meadow View had everything we wanted and in a beautiful location.

It was lovely watching the sun set over Dartmoor every evening. The only thing that would have made it better (or safer) would be to have a bannister running all the way up as my partner was a little unsteady on the stairs without it. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Windows need to be cleaned to enjoy the stunning view. Owners need to keep an eye on whoever they employ to do the cleaning. Fantastic location.

We were very happy with the barn and enjoyed our stay.

The place was very clean, well equipped and in a lovely location. Please consider leaving some cupboard space vacant for guests to store their food etc. Every shelf had something on it. Shame we picked the week that the neighbours had the builders in, with the view and location it would be ideal for a lazy reading day.

We have stayed at Meadow View many times and it is always perfect.

It has everything you need and is always spotlessly clean and in a beautiful quiet location, plus the owners are so nice.

The apartment was spacious, warm and comfortable.

Just what we needed for a November stay. On the negative side, whilst the property was reasonably clean I Saw no evidence of the deep cleaning expected to mitigate the risks of covid. Also I discovered that the property had a "good housekeeping" bond of £200. What's that about? Are they not insured? Furthermore I discovered this after I had made and paid for the booking and I did not give my permission (explicit or implicit) for Sykes cottages to retain my card details or to take any further payments. In fairness to Sykes Cottages, the property was managed by another company, Coast and Country who were somewhat heavy handed.

Phil and Anne gave us a very warm welcome and were keen to ensure that we felt confident about their Covid measures and comfortable in the accommodation.

They are excellent hosts. We felt very safe and relaxed there and have booked to return.

Nice quiet location but still within a few miles of places to visit, albeit with narrow lanes , but you soon get used to them !

What a lovely cottage, clean, comfortable and just as advertised.

Really impressed with kitchen, there were so many things available, ie, glasses, cups, mats, toast rack, butter dish, everything you could think of. Very friendly owner, checked with us all was ok. We arrived to find milk in the fridge and Tbags and sugar. The cottage was outside the village but you could walk to a pub and garage with a shop and there was a stall with eggs, potatoes and vegetables with an honesty box. It was perfect location for what we needed

Really lovely place to stay for a couple.

Ann and Phil, the owners, were extremely friendly. The location was really central with easy access to all the major places of interest. WiFi was good and facilities spot-on. We will definately stay there again when visiting this lovely part of the UK.

A lovely furnished cottage, beautiful views ,the owners have listened to past comments and there is now a table and chairs at the front if the building perfect to sit and take in the views,we had a hare run past and a pair of pheasents always around.

Loved cooking in the kitchen everything I needed,great to return to after a day out .heating easy to use and the sofas are so comfortable,take a couple of cushions as things like that aren't in due to Covid,all rules were followed and the place is spotless. You soon get used to the narrow lanes there's plenty of passing places. Half hour to lots of places on the coast . Also Plymouth and across to Cornwall,is just under the hour.

Meadow View is in an excellent location for exploring South Hams area with a useful garage/food store a few minutes down the road.

The accommodation was spotless on arrival with tea bags and milk for a cup of tea after a long drive. The bedroom is very spacious with a wonderful view towards Dartmoor. Downstairs an open plan living area which is comfortable. Outside there’s a court yard area to sit or by the front door a table and chairs, which has a lovely view. The only improvement I’d like is a dishwasher in place of the washing machine but maybe that’s just me and only a small negative.

Meadow View provides the perfect getaway from the stresses of everyday life.

The view of Dartmoor and the surrounding countryside from both the bedroom window and living room door are beautiful, the cottage is very comfortable and extremely clean. The Proprietor is very welcoming. If you are in need of peace and quiet a stay at Meadow View is the perfect tonic - all we could hear was the sound of the birds and the wind.

The view across the valley from the bedroom was fantastic. If I was going to change one thing I would put a dishwasher in place of the washing machine but that was a minor point.

Very friendly and welcoming owners. Could not fault the cottage itself. DON'T follow SAT NAV - use the directions on the website. A lovely pub/restaurant nearby called The California and an excellent hotel/restaurant in Mobury called The White Hart. The local A roads are quite narrow, sometimes single-track so be aware if you drive a large vehicle.

Generally OK, there are a few improvements that could be made which would make it better.

Bigger towels, hair dryer, heavier curtains to keep out the light in the morning, smart tv. It would also be nice to have an outside seating area at the front so that the view could be enjoyed, we didn't use the seating in the quadrangle, who wants to sit and look at 4 walls.

The cottage was extremely well presented and very comfortable.

The detail of an armchair to sit & look out at the beautiful views was delightful. I had a bit of trouble finding it but totally enjoyed my stay there & would certainly go back again.

Accurate description of property. Owner Anne extremely pleasant and checked all was in order and if anything extra was required.

The owners were especially considerate, setting the heating to come on to ensure we were warm enough in a very cool June.

In the past we have been disappointed when upon arriving at rental accommodation the property was not as advertised, and not as clean as is should be. This property was spotless, comfortable and had all the facilities needed. The only fault we could find was that there was no place to hang wet outdoor clothes if it was raining. A lovely quiet spot with a wonderful view of Dartmoor, and with a Garage and restaurant 5 mins away. We loved it.

De landelijke omgeving van de cottage sprak ons erg aan. De ligging ten opzichte van de mooie kust en de gezellige stadjes zijn een bonus. Bovendien was de cottage schoon, gezellig en van alle gemakken voorzien. Met name de slaapkamer is erg mooi. Het mooie grote raam daar en het uitzicht zijn prachtig. Anne(eigenaar) was erg vriendelijk en voorkomend.

We loved this cottage, with the most beautiful view looking towards Dartmoor. The standard of furnishings was good, and was very clean. Best of all for my husband was the dark skies at night, no light pollution, so bringing a rather large telescope on holiday with us was not a waste of time or space in the car.

Lovely location and fairly spacious, especially the bedroom. Comfortable furnishings and very much like the on line photos. Only disappointment was outside seating as it was an internal courtyard so no views. There were a few thing missing from the kitchen that I would normally expect like oven gloves, kitchen scissors but having said that if I went again I would take those. The cotages was cleaned to a reasonable standard and warm. The bedroom was comfortable with good storage. I was concerned that the window in the bed room at floor hight had no safety bars so a confused person sleep waker visiting child could fall out. !!!!! This dose not complie with current building regulations. The storage down stairs was so limited , sweeping brush and seat cushions for out side left in the kitchen/ living room. Some form of clothes dryer for wet days would have been helpful, better still a washer dryer. Those improvements made would make it into a very good holiday let. The owners visited and seemed helpful.

Lovely cottage in beautiful setting. Very well equipped and although it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, there is the Calfornia Cross Service Station with an excellent Spar shop and a reasonable pub just down the road.

We recently stayed in Meadow View Cottage and just loved it! It is in such a lovely quiet location, but within half an hours drive to lots of lovely locations, including Dartmouth and Salcombe. The cottage is very clean and tidy with modern facilities. Its is bright and airy and we will certainly return again in future. Although we visited in the Summer i'm sure it would be the perfect any time of the year.

Accommodation was exactly as specified. Very comfortable and all mod cons. Would have been nice to have a tea towel and change of towels after our first week. Weather was pretty awful so difficult to dry them. Also, found it strange not to separate recyclables but that's not C&C's fault. All in all a lovely break, peace and quiet, just what we needed. Would definitely recommend.
