“We had a really lovely stay in this apartment.”
It was spotlessly clean, incredibly spacious and, if anything, the photos really don’t do it justice.
The large balcony was great, we sat out every morning with our coffee and every evening with a glass of wine, watching the boats and people come and go. Such a lovely spot!

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Dartmouth, just steps away from the boat trips, buses, shops, pubs and restaurants. Despite being so central, we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the apartment was. There was a little noise from a nearby pub at the weekend, but nothing that disturbed us and it was all over by midnight. The seagulls are another matter, but that comes with the territory in Dartmouth!
A couple of things worth mentioning: the lock on the main front door is rather annoying to begin with, although once you get the hang of it, it’s fine. There are also a couple of flights of stairs to reach the apartment on the top floor. This wasn't a problem at all for us, but it is worth bearing in mind for anyone with mobility issues.
Unfortunately, there was one fairly significant downside for us, and that was the bed in the left-hand bedroom. It was genuinely one of the most uncomfortable beds either of us has ever slept in. My husband and I both struggled terribly and were awake and out of bed by 5.30am because we were so uncomfortable. We both ended up with aches and pains and it took several days after returning home for our bodies to recover – I even needed an appointment with my sports physio afterwards!
It was such a shame because everything else about the apartment was excellent, but the lack of sleep did impact our holiday. When you're away, you really want to be able to enjoy a lie-in rather than having to get out of bed at 5.30am because you're in pain.
If the bed were replaced with a good-quality, comfortable mattress, we would happily return because the apartment, balcony and location are all fantastic. As it stands, however, the bed would unfortunately be the one thing that would prevent us from booking again, which is a real shame as we loved everything else about our stay.
