  • “We visited 5 Dartmouth house for one week during August as a party of 3 adults one of which has limited mobility.”

    We found the apartment spotless and very comfortable with plenty of space which helped as one of my party uses a scooter and a walking frame. The lift from the parking area was very good for accessing the apartment, but the parking space was very tight especially for a larger car. The only down side we found was as we had beautiful weather during our visit it was very stuffy. Even though there were two French windows one lounge one master bedroom it was just too noisy to keep them open and ...

    We found the apartment spotless and very comfortable with plenty of space which helped as one of my party uses a scooter and a walking frame. The lift from the parking area was very good for accessing the apartment, but the parking space was very tight especially for a larger car. The only down side we found was as we had beautiful weather during our visit it was very stuffy. Even though there were two French windows one lounge one master bedroom it was just too noisy to keep them open and unfortunately builders merchant Travis Perkins is a few steps away, this led to heavy delivery lorries unloading and loading from early morning. We feel the apartment would benefit from some air conditioning or even a couple of fans would be helpful. The opposite car park was no problem at all. Even though this is a beautiful apartment we wouldn't choose to stay again.

The property

The popular Dartmouth House development in Mayors Avenue is just a few metres level walk from the embankment and River Dart.

Dartmouth's shops, art galleries, pubs and restaurants are within an easy reach, as are the Royal Avenue Gardens. 5 Dartmouth house opens into an entrance hallway, with access to all rooms, including a large open plan kitchen, living and dining room.

The kitchen area is equipped with a range of base and wall units with integrated kitchen appliances including electric oven, microwave, four-ring gas hob, fridge freezer, and dishwasher.

A separate utility cupboard houses the washing machine.

The dining area is furnished with a round wooden dining table with four matching chairs, whilst the sitting area comprises a three-seater sofa, coffee and side tables, flatscreen Smart TV and DVD player, a selection of books, DVDs and games.

En suite master bedroom is furnished with a King-size wooden-framed bed and a built-in wardrobe, with French doors opening onto a Juliet balcony with river views.

En suite shower room with shower cubicle, wash hand basin and w.c.

Second bedroom has two single beds and a built-in wardrobe.

One pet is accepted. An easily accessible apartment within quick reach of Dartmouth’s waterfront, with a secure underground parking space.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular sandy beaches are a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.

Wheelchair access to this property is particularly good as the development has a lift from the private underground car park. Smoking is not permitted. One dog is accepted. The apartment has a gas fired central heating and hot water system. Wireless broadband internet available. Property is within close proximity of the fairground during Dartmouth Regatta. It is on the front row of the development at ground floor level and guests need to be aware of the noise from the fairground during this time. Please contact the office for further information.
