    “Firstly, I am quite picky, the double doors in the dedroom, I could not open them, I used a lot of force, this meant no ventilation.”

    The owners did supply a large fan. A handle on a kitchen cabinet was loose, a bedroom draw curtain had fittings missing connecting to the track. A smell of "sewers" in the property, there had been a lot of rain and sometimes this smell was also around the town. Unfortunately (it is on a main road) and there was a lot of traffic noise. For me, a TV in the master bedroom would be a good thing. However none of these things actually stopped me having a good holiday. Now the good bits, the flat ...

Now the good bits, the flat was clean, spacious, warm in the evenings, lots of hot water, loads of crockery and cutlery, you can see the river from the windows, its close to town, (and M&S). Private , secure and guaranteed parking for 1 car, AND, we will be booking again for next year, if you'l have us.

The property

The popular Dartmouth House development in Mayors Avenue is just a few metres level walk from the embankment and River Dart.

Dartmouth's shops, art galleries, pubs and restaurants are within an easy reach, as are the Royal Avenue Gardens. 5 Dartmouth house opens into an entrance hallway, with access to all rooms, including a large open plan kitchen, living and dining room.

The kitchen area is equipped with a range of base and wall units with integrated kitchen appliances including electric oven, microwave, four-ring gas hob, fridge freezer, and dishwasher.

A separate utility cupboard houses the washing machine.

The dining area is furnished with a round wooden dining table with four matching chairs, whilst the sitting area comprises a three-seater sofa, coffee and side tables, flatscreen Smart TV and DVD player, a selection of books, DVDs and games.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. Please be aware that the tri-annual external decoration works are due to commence on the 23rd of September 2024. Scaffolding will surround the building and where possible windows will remain unobscured, during your stay we may contact to ask that you leave windows ajar to allow for window reveal painting to be carried out. We thought it would be helpful to provide you with the following schedule, for your information:- 1. Scaffolding to go up starting on 23rd September for completion on 11th October 2. Internal decoration starts 30th September for 3 weeks ending 18th October. This will only include communal hallways and staircases. 3. External decoration starts 21st October finishing 29th November. 4. 1 week for snagging ending 6th December 5. Scaffolding is due to be taken down 9th December ending 20th December We thank you in anticipation of your assistance and co-operation while these works are being undertaken.
