This semi-detached cottage makes an ideal holiday home and has been designed with a family of four in mind, perfect for those seeking to explore all of the delights that this part of Devon's coastline has to offer.

Climb the exterior steps of the property to enter into the dwelling, where on entry you are welcomed into the brightly-decorated open-plan living room, a social space where everyone can gather to unwind of an evening.

The kitchen comes complete with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and is certain to encourage a spot of home cooking.

The kitchen is accompanied by a large dining table, where the four of you can settle down to relish in a home-cooked treat and pop open a bottle of something to toast to a wonderful holiday in Devon.

Afterwards, kick back and relax on the plush sofas as you browse the channels of the TV or delve into a good book.

Once the evening has drawn to a close, retire to one of the two bedrooms, each one boasting a refreshing colour palette, quality linens and towels and plenty of storage space to keep your things.

Choose between the excellent king-size bedroom and the wonderful twin bedroom, which is served by the sleek family bathroom, boasting a shower over bath, basin and WC.

Sunny afternoons can be spent within the south facing garden, where you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the table and chairs.

For the evenings where you do not feel like cooking, you will not have to venture far to find a plethora of places to eat and drink, as well as a number of shops and art galleries which are well-worth visiting.

Look forward to visiting the pretty harbour, where you are sure to see colourful boats bob happily in the water or why not hire a boat can explore the waters even further.

Within the town, you can also visit Royal Avenue Gardens or brush up on the local history at Tudor-style Dartmouth Museum, each one promising a leisurely afternoon exploring.

Once you have completed the town centre, stroll to Dartmouth Castle to soak up the views of the estuary before soaking up the sunshine at Sugary Cove Beach or walking along the South West Coast Path, where you can pay a visit to the likes of Brownstone Battery and Berry Head National Nature Reserve.

Venture further afield to the seaside town of Paignton via a journey on the Dartmouth Steam Railway, where you can enjoy the delights of the Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, a number of sandy beaches, a picturesque pier and adventure golf.

Alternatively, you can take the car to visit Brixham and Salcombe, or if you are visiting with children, a day out at Woodlands Family Theme Park and Torquay's Dinosaur World is a must.

Bring your loved ones to George Cottage to share a memorable break.

About the location

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
