“Lovely cottage was a home from home for us with everything we needed for our stay.”

Nicely furnished. Well equipped. Above Town is a very narrow road. Large cars or nervous drivers might find this a problem. Free car park permit to town car park appreciated as the 4 car parking spaces outside the terraced Cottages were continually occupied, understandably. We were fit enough to walk up the hill/steps from town but this does need to be borne in mind if booking this property. Worth it for the lovely views and quiet location. Would recommend to our friends, mentioning said points ...

The property

Juniper Cottage is a stunning terraced house located in an elevated position overlooking the River Dart in the town of Dartmouth.

The property offers views of the harbour and sea from your windows and the large paved patio in front; an ideal base for a family to come and experience the wonderful county of Devon.

Inside, you'll discover a bright and spacious sitting area with plenty of plush seats in front of the Smart TV; recline on these or lounge on the window seat, which is placed within a bay window that beautifully captures those views!

Proceed through the property to the well-equipped kitchen, a pleasant area with cream cabinets and wooden countertops, as well as a variety of high-quality appliances that will please any foodie.

Once the budding chef of the group has made a delicious meal, enjoy it at the circular dining table in the living/dining room, or bring it outdoors to the front patio, where you can dine while being surrounded by the fantastic view.

In the evening, wash the day away in one of the two well-presented shower rooms, the first of these is located on the ground level.

Continue upstairs to discover the other shower room, as well as three tastefully furnished bedrooms; the first is a king-size with zip/linked beds and a range of books to choose from, the second a double, and the latter a king-size which opens out to a balcony enjoying sea views.

Learn about Dartmouth, a gorgeous town with a superb selection of attractions, from the delights of Bayard's Cove Fort and Dartmouth Castle with its path and beaches, to the harbour with its access to Kingswear and boat hiring; there is so much to do here!

Cross the river to reach the Coast Path Inner Froward Point, where you may walk past The Daymark and Brownstone Battery to the renowned National Trust property of Coleton Fishacre.

Venture to Blackpool Sands, a Blue Flag beach with pristine sands and access to The Venus Café & Bar, where you may dine amongst the sea views.

The surrounding region has a wealth of places to explore, such as Totnes, with its castle, and Paignton, which has a zoo and a beach; you'll rarely be bored!

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.

Please note the house is situated in Above Town (Steep and narrow access road & steps to town centre).

An annual parking permit, for one car, is provided for the Mayors Avenue public car park which is approximately 0.5 miles away from the property (subject to available spaces).
