“The property is well equipped and having dishwasher tablets left was great, so many properties don't leave any.”

Also coffee pods for the machine was a bonus. Of course the down side is the lift, but we did see that work was in progress so fingers crossed, and the stairs kept us fit ☺️ The bins for the rubbish puzzled us because there was no grey bin for general waste and the code didn't work on the other bin store where they were. Overall a great appartement and the bonus of the M&S food around the corner was very handy.

“Flat was delightful, everything you need for a comfortable stay.”

Good location. Secondly, there are 40 steps in all up to the flat, which when you’re in your late seventies and eighties is no joke with cases and other items. Lift still out of order which I believe it has been for well over a year.

“We thorough enjoyed our holiday.”

This was our second visit to Leeward as we stayed last November. The accommodation is really comfortable, cosy, well equipped and has wonderful views. Only one issue the bedrooms could do with new pillows as they were looking very worn and flat!! Apart from this everything was great. My son and his wife joined us and they were very impressed. The only issue for us was that the lift was still not fixed ( amazed at this as it wasn't working a year ago). I do think that Coast & Country should have contacted us to advise us on this prior to our holiday. I only found out just before after emailing the company. As my husband is 86 years of age and has a heart problem so he really struggled up the stairs. This meant he didn't venture out as much as he would have if the lift was working. We love going to Dartmouth for the Remembrance service and to see the Naval officers marching along the embankment. Lovely holiday !!

Lift is currently out of order and gas board are digging up road to car park - so no allocated parking when we stayed - despite this we have already booked for next year.

“Lovely location and accommodation.”

The only problem we had was we tried to request the twin beds being converted into a double via the website . We ddiiddd this in good time before the holiday. Eventually I contacted Sykes direct and they assured me this would be done..it wasn’t. Not the hosts fault though…probably a problem with Sykes itself. We managed to push the two narrow twin beds together for greater comfort. Other than that a great place to stay

“An excellent apartment with fabulous dual aspect views along the river.”

The accommodation had everything we needed for our holiday. The only thing missing was the lift but we did see evidence of contractors working on it so hopefully it will be fixed soon. The piano in the lounge was a lovely suprise and I practiced most evenings. We had a great week in this apartment despite the unpredictable weather.

“The apartment, which is well equipped and comfortable with lovely views of the Dart, is in a very convenient location within flat walking distance of the Dartmouth shops, restaurants and ferries.”

The only drawback is the lift not working and having to carry our luggage up to and down from the second floor. They are not easy stairs to manipulate luggage around! I’m sure when we booked, the details said the lift was out of action until the end of March but when we came to pay our balance the details said the lift was out of action until July! Will the lift ever be repaired?

“A great apartment in a fantastic location.”

The views of the Dart are amazing. We spent many hours watching the comings and going’s on the river. The apartment has everything you need for a great holiday, and as mentioned the owners seem to have put a lot of thought into what is provided. The only disappointment was the lack of the lift ( although we were informed beforehand) as it’s quite tiring climbing those many stairs for the less able. But that wouldn’t stop us from booking Leeward again.

“Fabulous flat great view of river dart.”

Well equipped kitchen. Lift not working again. Seal on shower door needs fixing as reported in visiters book last year,water leaks onto raised tiled plinth you step on to coming out of shower.Fire alarm went off twice for Lee Court 00:50am Monday morning and 6:10pm Thursday evening.Not fixed when we came away Sunday morning. “We had another lovely stay at Leeward at the end oFebruary early March.”

The weather was sunny every day. A real bonus for the time of the year. The apartment is spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and amazing views. Great attention by the owners has been taken to provide all you need for your stay. A parking place is a bonus in Dartmouth. The only downside was the lift not working. We would love to return.

“This is a lovely comfortable flat with everything you need for a good holiday.”

The location is wonderful and with parking it’s definitely five star. The only minor issue I had was with the refuse disposal . It’s well explained in the flat but the holiday rental bin store only has one bin. Unlike the residents bin store which has all the bins in order to recycle . It didn’t make sense to me .

Hi Karen, that is odd, there should be at least 2 bins in the holiday rental bin store - one for mixed recycling (which the company that collects it then sorts) and one for landfill. “We stayed at Leeward 25 Jan until 1 Feb, we really enjoyed our stay there.”

The flat is perfect, the location is perfect and I don’t think I would want it any different. We picked the wrong week as the weather was atrocious but we still managed to get some walks and nice meals which was the aim of our break in Dartmouth. My only comment about the flat was the storage heaters which didn’t always appear to work as they should and sometimes it was too hot overnight. The bathroom with both bath and walk in shower was amazing. We will recommend Leeward to anyone.

A couple of minutes walk into town was an added bonus with plenty of places to eat although the apartment had everything you need to cook if preferred. The views over the River Dart were very special from every window in the apartment. We hope to return.

Great thought has been given by the owners to what people might need during their stay. A plus is the nearness to the 'corner shop' M&S just along the road. Our only regret was the lack of the lift. Otherwise we loved every minute in your lovely apartment and would love to return. Our daughter, visiting from North Devon, was so impressed that she has booked to stay in December.

“The apartment was superb, views exceptional and very clean, everything you could want from a holiday home and more.”

However, our balance payment for the holiday was taken from our bank as arranged and the very next day we had an email to tell us that there was a change to our booking….the lift, advertised, was not working and we would have to access apartment via the stairs. This did cause a problem for us as we are in our 70s. No offer of reduction in charges as it was too late to book somewhere else. This lift has been out of action since June according to a resident living in Lee Court. We never complain but feel on this occasion it was necessary.

“This is a large, well equipped, tastefully furnished apartment with superb views from the double-aspect windows in the lounge and from both bedrooms - amazing.”

Beds very comfortable. We had a great time and hope to return. A couple of points, which in no way detracted from our enjoyment, both of which concern recycling and rubbish. The recycling bin, bottle & glass bin, and the food waste tin were unlined, no spare bags anywhere and no way we could lug all these down to the bin store - so had to purchase a roll of black sacks. Having separated items as instructed, we found that there were only two bins in the store - one for glass and the other for everything else! What was the point of separating everything??????

We have now been told that we can't offer food waste recycling to our guests so we'll remove the food waste bin and save you doing that unnecessary separation in future. Hi Stephen, thanks for sharing your feedback! Sorry to hear the beds were too narrow. We were advised to get a "zip and link" type bed, that could be either two 2'6" singles for children, or one 5' kingsize for adults. I agree 2'6" feels narrow as an adult! I'll ask Coast & Country to add a note to the website listing and make sure people can book the right set up for the beds. There should have been a food recycling bin under the sink (like a miniature dustbin, purple) so I will find out what has happened to that, and also ask them to stock up on bin bags. “Leeward was just the job great locating property was as discribed.”

The following perhaps just prevented a 10 out of 10 score 1. Booking... The system didn't work too well kept telling me sykes Site stated Property wasn't available when your site said it was 2. Keys... We were asked to collect after 4pm on a sunday.. Took several emails and whatsapp chat to get this resolved 3. Apartment was too cold on arrival 4. Can't think of a 4 We loved our stay and Leeward would be a place we looked to return too, we have been to Dartmouth many times The local staff are great too

Keys - I think when you originally booked it was before we'd put in a key safe, and it sounds like that change wasn't well communicated, sorry. I hope that by putting in the key safe we've sorted this one for the future. 3. Heating - I'll check that the 'right' number of storage heaters are being put on in preparation for arrivals. “We have been staying in Airbnb’s throughout the UK for the last 4 months and this one would have to be one of the best in terms of presentation, comfort and stunning river views.”

The owners have gone above and beyond with all their thoughtfulness. With the delights of this scenic town all within a 5 minute stroll out the front door along the promenade. Endless hours could be spent watching the river boat travel and enjoying the steam train and its memorable whistle. The property

Leeward is a well-presented, second-floor apartment situated in Dartmouth, Devon. Situated on the edge of the River Dart, with breathtaking water views, this property sleeps four and has two allocated parking spaces, making it perfect for small groups and families wanting to discover the beauties Devon has to offer. Head up the stairs to the apartment, where you’ll find an open-plan living/dining area flooded with light from the windows which also showcase beautiful views of the river. Sink into the sofas to watch something on the Smart TV or sit around the dining table for a family dinner or board game. Unwind with a hot shower or bath in the spacious family bathroom then retreat to either the king-size or the king size bed (Which can be made into twins on request) also boasting harbour views where you’ll be able to watch the birds and boats on the river and the coming and going of the steam train on the opposite bank.
