Secret Garden, 34C Clarence Street

We had a fantastic week at Secret Garden.

The flat is perfect for a family of four, and the location is excellent. The car park is so near the flat, and we had no issues getting a space. All the communication for arrival and departure was clear and easy to follow. We would definitely recommend Secret Garden to anyone looking for accommodation in Dartmouth.

Just returned from a wonderful, comfortable four night stay at Secret Garden.

Very clean, spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped apartment in a fantastic location. The parking permit really is a much appreciated bonus too. As others have mentioned, a microwave would be really useful. Only other negative for us was the ‘secret garden’ We didn’t use it as thought it really needed attention. A shame as could have been a lovely addition to the property. Aside from that would highly recommend a stay here.

We had a wonderful week at ‘Secret Garden’.

The cottage is extremely clean, very well equipped with comfy beds and bedding. There is access to the ‘secret garden’ itself via further steps up from the cottage, a private spot to enjoy a drink/meal in the sunshine. It’s very close to town and the main car park- we were very grateful for the parking permit, thank you! We had no problem finding a space each day. The cottage is very close to a large park area which we used regularly with our son, lots of space for football and cricket etc and there’s a children’s playground and sandpit too. Dartmouth is a fantastic place to stay, this is our 4th time visiting! Plenty of opportunities for shopping, a great choice of cafes/pubs/restaurants and lots of space for crabbing along the river! We will be visiting again I’m sure!

This was our second visit to Secret Garden having stayed there the previous year.

It’s a great flat - location is superb, it has all the facilities that you need and the secret garden is a little oasis of outside space which is hard to find in Dartmouth. Would definitely recommend!

We were impressed with the quality and cleanliness.

Very convenient for the town and only about 2 minutes walk to M&S and a few minutes to the bus stop as we came via train and bus. The garden was useful and would be ideal when the weather is warmer.

The Secret Garden was a gem in the heart of Darmouth!

The accommodation was roomy and was well appointed! Everything we needed was there and the decor was lovely! A quick walk(2 min) to the water, shops and pubs:). The cherry on top was the actually Secret Garden-absolutely Fab!! Would book again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful apartment in the centre of Dartmouth.

Spotlessly clean with a touch of luxury throughout - we loved the wall paper and sumptuous sofas. The car park was only a few minutes walk away and very convenient for picking up a few bits from the M&S food hall on our way home! Some lovely walks and day trips from the door via the bus or ferry and so many great places to eat and drink in Dartmouth that we were spoilt for choice. Thank you to the lovely owners who provided an extra Valentines treat.

Not far from the Town or Car park or MandS !!

This is a beautiful cottage perfectly situated for parking (permit provided) and nestled a 2 minute walk from town.

It was like staying in a cosy 5* hotel with everything we could have needed, and more, thoughtfully provided. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Dartmouth.

We had a great stay and the flat was in a great location to attend the food festival.

Accommodation was clean and well furnished. Had all we needed. There was no toilet roll on our arrival but I imagine that was just an oversight.

Lovely property just minutes from the heart of town.

Everything we needed for our stay was included, the parking permit is a welcome bonus. The only downside were the steps to the front door, which we knew about before our arrival, but carrying luggage up and down could be difficult. We would definitely return to the Secret Garden.

We stayed as a family of 4 with two young children under 5 and had a great time.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Appreciated a call from the owner welcoming us at her place. The cottage was situated close to shops and restaurants and we found it to be a good location with lots to do the the surrounding areas. Thank you! Xx

The Apartment is superb.

Lovely decor, nicely furnished with a fabulous wide reclining chair in the lounge. In terms of location, it is just a two minute walk into the town where there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants. Even though the Apartment has a well appointed kitchen there is really no need to cook, just walk into the town! Definitely visiting again!

Secret Garden is a beautifully decorated and very comfortable place to stay.

The kitchen is well stocked with everything you you could need and is a lovely space to cook and eat. The property is well situated and is a 2 minute walk from the town and the car park. We had a lovely stay at Secret Garden and our contact with Dani (the owner) was friendly and helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this charming property.

The property was just like brand new , cosy and comfortbale with everything you could possibly need .

Loved our stay thanks to the incredible location but there were a few sticking points for us.

The smell of the shower drain in the bathroom was really quite overpowering, regardless of use and regardless of the window. We had to swap a few light bulbs around as the bedside light didn't have a bulb? In addition, there are only 2 sockets in the bedroom so it would have been great to have some sort of extension lead so we didn't have to charge devices in a different room if we wanted to use the bedside lights. Given the great stock of kitchen items and tea/coffee facilities, it would have also been a nice touch to include the basics like olive oil for cooking. Similarly, it is great that there is a dishwasher in the property but only one singular tablet was provided. Overall though the stay was pleasant and the location is second to none.

We booked as a super last minute break away- what a fantastic place!

Our children have never slept so well in the super comfy beds in the twin room! It is the perfect location and we love the decor throughout. Thank you

The property was good, except for a few issues: the sink kept blocking, and we needed to use the plunger regularly.

The fridge did not keep the food properly chilled and several items went off. The bathroom lock was very stiff and if you didn't manage to lock it, the door would sometimes swing open. The door of the bedroom with the double bed didn't close properly. Also the chairs in the garden were covered in cobwebs and had to be cleaned before we could use them.

The cottage was fab and I would book to stay again.

It was comfortable, with luxurious fittings and decorated to a high standard. It was located in the perfect spot - very close to all the facilities in Dartmouth but also so quiet. There were a couple of things missing that I would generally use - oven gloves and a small microwave. It was only noticeable because we decided to eat in a few times. A mirror in the bedroom close to a socket would be useful for hairdrying too. Otherwise everything has been thought of - even night lights or are they night torches?
