Description

Ty'r Ddraig in the riverside town of Dartmouth, Devon, is a quirky four-storey house offering an external annex sitting in a prominent position in the picture-perfect town.

Ideal for a relaxing break with your friends or family, Ty'r Ddraig is within easy reach of local amenities, the beach and boasts views of the River Dart from the balcony.

Stepping into the property, the entrance hallway invites you to explore your home away from home for your trip.

Make your way into the sitting room and kick off your shoes, ready to sink into the sofas to watch a film for the evening or sit out on the balcony to soak in the glorious river views.

From here, you will find a handy ground-floor shower room, ideal if you have had a sandy day at the beach.

Make your way down the stairs to the lower-ground floor, where you will find a well-equipped kitchen fit with an electric oven and hob, plenty of fridge space, and handy washing facilities for your clothes.

Throw open the French doors, let the fresh air in, and gather your group to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal at the dining table while you plan your day's activities.

When sleep calls, head back up the stairs and climb the next flight up to the first floor, where you will find two of three well-presented bedrooms.

The first is a lovely king-size with a Juliet balcony and an en-suite shower room for freshening up between activities.

The second bedroom is home to two single beds and a futon (upon request), perfect for younger members of your group or for those needing a more flexible sleeping arrangement.

Completing the first floor is a bathroom, fitted with a bath, basin and WC where you can soak your muscles after an adventurous day.

The final bedroom is located in an external annex and hosts a king-size bed, tea and coffee-making facilities, and an en-suite shower room, ideal if you have a multigenerational family, or members of your group that appreciate a bit of peace while on holiday.

Take advantage of the outdoor space at the property; the dining room provides French doors out onto the terrace, where you can admire the views out over the River Dart Estuary.

On the lower-ground floors, more terrace space with furniture is available so you can take your dining al fresco, as well as there being a lawned area with charming trees and shrubbery encompassing the grounds.

This is a perfect all-day sun trap and safe for children and dogs.

If you want a break from cooking, venture out on foot to discover an array of restaurants.

What guests are saying

A spacious property positioned close to Dartmouth harbour and overlooking River Dart nicely.

We liked the separate living spaces - kitchen, living room, dining area, annexe and reception area. Driving access to the property was okay but very limited for family vehicles when off-loading, dropping off or picking up. Though mentioned in prebooking information, parking or manoeuvring is non-existent and because area is uphill, this could be difficult for less physically able guests. Also, though known before hand as pet friendly, we did not expect the level of pet hairs on the upholstery and beddings especially in the Annexe. The Annexe was also significantly colder than the rest of the house all of the time. The additional blow heater was not very effective altogether making the Annexe not as habitable. There were significantly nice touches in the Welcome hamper filled with local favourites, the excellent Kitchen starter kit, and the bluetooth Audio system was a nice touch that we enjoyed for the festive spirit. The local area also had good walking routes, shopping and food. Plymouth, Exeter and Totnes also pleasant areas to visit via scenic country roads.
