Enter your new home-from-home, hang up your outerwear in the front hallway before you step into the impressive, open-plan living space, which comprises a fully-equipped kitchen where delicious dinners can be prepared, a dining table with ample seating where you can gather to savour your meals, and a sitting area with vaulted ceilings, two sofas, a woodburning stove, and a sleek, wall-mounted Smart TV that serves as the social hub of the home.
Head upstairs, where you can enjoy views overlooking the sitting space from the mezzanine-level study, before you head to refresh with a rejuvenating shower on your way to catching your rest in either a plush king-size or double bed, the latter of which enjoys a gorgeous view of the River Dart from Velux windows.
If you can tear yourself from your lovely new base, set out to explore the many delights on offer in your local area.
A short stroll will bring you to your nearest post office that sells homely essentials, whilst a hearty pub lunch can be had at the nearby Ferry Boat Inn or The Anchorstone waterside restaurant.
When you're ready, hop on the ferry and cross the river to pay a visit to the National Trust site of Greenway Boathouse, or if something more exhilarating is desired, head west to the Woodlands Family Theme Park for a fun day out.
Further afield, a short drive south will bring you to Dartmouth, home to the Dartmouth Museum for history buffs, the picturesque Royal Avenue Gardens, and the ancient sites of Bayard's Cove Fort and Dartmouth Castle.
When you're done, head back to your new abode and unwind on the raised garden where you can soak in more of your scenic surroundings with a glass of your favourite tipple in hand.

Lovely, well-equipped cottage in a fantastic setting.
We enjoyed our stay! However, there are a few possible points for improvement: Part of the wardrobe space is taken up by the landlord's belongings, meaning the closet space for clothing was insufficient. We missed a coffee machine. A sink tap was not properly installed. No (good) instructions on how to handle waste. It is bizarre that a second house key was hung behind the mailbox (anyone can access this; so potentially anyone has access to the cottage). We saw this hanging there by chance on the 4th day of our stay......... There are quite a few groceries belonging to previous tenants in the cupboards.
The views from the property, both inside and from the top garden are exceptional.
The conversion of the chapel is of the highest standard and its internal architecture is very imaginatively designed and impressively constructed. The ambience deriving from this pleasing aesthetic quality and the generally attractive furniture provided is then somewhat spoiled by the over indulgent array of designer furnishings and objects which seem to have been chosen at random and scattered around the shelves and corners of the main living room. Maybe they were acqired as a bargain 'job lot'? There is no sense whatever of their having been chosen to reflect a personal touch. While offering a subject for much discussion, they only detract from the pleasing basic surroundings of the room. The choice of plastic flowers and plants generously placed all around the property also jars. Much nicer, more personal and more environmentally friendly would have been a single vase of fresh (local?) flowers provided at the start of the week. Finally, it would have been helpful to have been given specific instructions in the guest book on how to sort out the waste for recycling, and indeed where the waste and recycle bins were kept!
All most excellent and very much appreciated the supply of wood, kindling and coal whereas other cottages often only supply a small starter pack.
Just a couple of things. There was a very bad fly problem in the top bedroom on the first day. An entire can of fly spray and an your's effort expended to get on top of it (had to sleep in the small room on the first night). Collected and counted 200 dead flies next morning. The only other small thing was the lack of instructions as to what to do with our garbage and recycling. We didn't really want to leave the garbage in the outside bin when we left (some smelly fish bits) as we didn't know if that would be put out. Ended up taking it all away in the car and having to find a place on the way to the airport which wasn't that easy. Other than that...all very good. Mark Dutton
