    “Perfect for our large family group.”

    Everything was of the highest quality and much appreciated. It would have been nice to have had some relaxing chairs outside other than just the benches. Our only criticism inside was that there was nowhere to put toiletries in the wet room. Even a shelf would have been most welcome. We all agreed that it was a lovely holiday home.

The property

A stylish front door welcomes you into a bright and spacious hallway, from here a fabulous open-plan space surrounds you.

A beautifully designed kitchen with a selection of high-end gadgets make self-catering a pleasure.

The large dining area features a long wooden table and 12 chairs, ideal for family dining or entertaining with friends.

Moving onto the living room, the room can be instantly heated by the delightful woodburning stove.

Relax in one of the four double settees which enjoying a move on the TV after a busy day at the beach.

A utility also sits on the ground floor with a washing machine and tumble dryer, a great place for those damp beach clothes!

There are six bedrooms in total; three on the ground floor and three on the first floor.

On the ground floor there is a twin bedroom, which can be made into a super-king if requested when booking.

A further two bedrooms which are both doubles with a super-king size bed in each.

All ground floor bedrooms have a en-suite; one is of which is catered for less mobile clients.

As we take the oak and glass staircase to the first floor there is a further twin bedroom (which again, can be made into a super-king if requested at time of booking).

A further two large double bedrooms feature a super-king size bed.

All bedrooms come with a shower en-suite.

Outside, a first floor balcony offers a view of the countryside.

Whilst off the dining area, there is a terrace with a table and benches and a barbeque for alfresco summer dining.

There is also secure parking for up to six cars.

Mount hill barn is a 15-minute walk to the sandy beach of South Sands and a short drive to the centre of Salcombe for your local shops and restaurants.

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
