We have stayed at cottage view 7 times now so I think it’s safe to say we love it there!

A very warm and comfortable house and the sea view from the front bedroom is the best way to start the day when you’re having your morning cuppa in bed! Our two schnauzers particularly like the sun room!! My husband would like a better toaster- he eats a lot of toast!-!as the one in the cottage is a bit slow, but apart from that, it’s pretty perfect!

Spotlessly clean and comfortable, we always love to stay here when we visit Hope.

The cottage was in an excellent position to the Cove , beaches & facilities.

The parking accommodated 3 medium vehicles which was fantastic as other properties struggled with this. The cottage was very well equipped with extras as well , although perhaps too many books, games & leaflets & certainly too many instructional notices ! This did not detract from our stay as it was comfortable with lots of room for my family to spread out. I would stay here again.

I had requested a high chair with attached table for our grandson but this didn’t materialise- was told request wasn’t received!

No mattress for the cot- this should be mentioned in the cottage information as we could’ve brought one with us. Not always easy to get hold of the local office rather than the one in Chester! I’ve now made a note of the local office phone number for future reference. Apart from that, we love Cottage view- we’ve stayed 5 times now- and the owner, Mrs Timmermann is always very helpful and concerned about her guests

We were very comfortable and it was so well equipped. We also loved that it was so close to the coastal path so had wasy access to lots of walks. Our elderly lab, Bella enjoyed staying here too. We'll definitely be back.

This was our second stay at Cottage View so it's a real home from home.

Warm, clean, comfortable and really well equipped. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and more. Great for the dogs too with a safe enclosed garden and patio area, covers for the furniture, dog bowls, etc. The location is fantastic with fantastic sea views, just a short walk to the beaches and pubs. The art gallery and Lobster Pod are always worth a visit. Can't wait to come back again next year!

Excellent equipment - everything catered for - nothing lacking

Lovely spacious house, everything you could possibly require for a great stay, from kitchen appliances to beach equipment even including hessian bqgs to carry goods either other geach or shopping a good selection of games & books to read catering for all ages , great location beautiful views parking great if I had a dog it would be well catered for too !

Great cottage we loved it!

We all had a wonderful stay and the dogs enjoyed it too.

Only thing one of our party is a bit unsteady on her feet and it did not state there were so many steps to negotiate. We lost the house keys and the efficient way this was dealt with was very commendable Thanks for a comfortable house to stay in. Area wonderful phone reception/wifi a bit hit and miss, but who needs this when you are here to relax !!

Had everything you could possibly want for a stay, and loved how clearly the instructions and information was. Very spacious and located in the perfect location for costal walks. If anything at all, the only change I’d make is the sofa. Dated and uncomfortable but not unusable Overall had a fantastic stay at cottage view and would love to come back again

We had a lovely, comfortable week in Cottage View.

Super location for walking on the coast path.

Very disapointed and gutted to think after visiting Cottage View, Hope Cove, recently we were accused of damaging the glass hob on the cooker.

Money was taken from my bank account without my say so, we are in our sixties, and would never cause damage like that to another person's property. Absolutely appalled. YES PLEASE publish my feedback.

Very comfortable cottage extremely well equipped even a pastry brush!

Only down side was all the steps especially for someone with a gammy knee. But the view made up for it

Very comfortable homely cottage with everything we needed.

Situated so close to the beach and pubs.

We had gone to Hope Cove through family recommendation.

We had a fantastic week mainly walking around the Hope Cove, Thurlestone and Salcombe areas and coastal paths. The views and walks were fantastic along with plenty of birds and wildlife. Cottage View provided us with the perfect base for our stay. The facilities were more than adequate for the four of us, plus our 1 dog. The owners had provided plenty of information about the facilities and features of the cottage which eased our settling in period. For those wishing to walk there were numerous maps and books covering the South Devon Area. The provision of trays and bowls for the dog as well as some throws for the furniture did assist but we had brought our own. The bars and restaurants in Hope Cove provided excellent food and drink, local sea food included at what seemed like reasonable prices. The parking at the cottage was fine for our 2 estate cars and may have allowed room for a further small car. We did however find that the access to the cottage was perhaps steeper than we expected but we coped fine with it.

Yet again another enjoyable stay at this cottage.

The first time where we encountered unfavourable weather for a few days however this cottage is so spacious and the conservatory so light, warm and welcoming the days as usual flew by. Looking forward to our next stay. Top marks to the owner and especially the Coast and Country team, excellent.

This cottage was like a home from home.

It felt immediately welcoming and contained everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The views over Hope Cove from the conservatory and main bedroom provided spectacular views of the stormy seas during our stay. It was a short walk down the footpath to the beach and the very welcoming pubs - all off-road. One downside is that the slope and steps down to the cottage from the parking place and the steps at the front to the footpath are quite steep and were quite challenging in the dark - a torch is essential. Also the parking place is quite narrow although our VW camper fitted with some shuffling! The village shop has short opening hours and limited stock so if you want to cook at home you need to take supplies with you. However we loved Cottage View and hope to revisit soon.

I have never left such a glowing review for any property or the services provided like this before.

The high ratings given are certainly deserved in all aspects. The description of the property is extremely accurate, but most important is the standard of service provided by both Coast and Country and the owner. We are sure that the provision of a holiday home can be quite challenging especially were many day to day problems can occur. Electrical equipment can falter, adverse weather such as high winds can affect the services provided in any home or property. We did unfortunately experience such an instance which was of no fault of Coast and Country or the owner. This problem was reported to Coast and Country, who acted immediately. Within the shortest of times the problem was fixed, organised by the Coast and Country team in liaison with the owner. This included the owner contacting us both before and after the problem was fixed. It is because of this excellent property, and service, that we have already rebooked this property again. Well done to Coast and Country and the owner, we certainly look forward to our next visit knowing that we will be enjoying the best of services by people who care, and a team working hard behind the scenes to ensure we have a carefree holiday.

Lovely cosy cottage in a fabulous location.

The beds are really comfortable and the cottage is very well equipped. As mentioned by others, there is parking for one fairly small car in a gravel pull in.

Yes this was a great cottage the owner had thought of every thing you could need to enjoy your holiday and it was there for your use , Spotless and clean accommodation.

Great location and super views from the front bedroom

A really homely holiday house with plenty of kitchen utensils- above and beyond anywhere we’ve stayed before-books, games and home comforts such as a pile of rugs in the conservatory .

The phone calls to check in from the letting agent and owner were appreciated, as was the postcard apologising for the cracks in the wallpaper in one bedroom- which we probably wouldn’t have noticed to be honest! Really comfortable beds, lovely downstairs shower room, dishwasher, large fridge/ freezer and washer/dryer made this a fantastic place to stay. The view from the bedroom window was stunning. Our only regret- that we can’t rebook for next Easter!

We have stayed here many times. Extremely comfortable and well equipped. Wonderful views of the sea from the main bedroom. Looking forward to going back very soon.

A great place to stay with all the home comforts that you need plus extras.

An ideal location right on the coastal path at Hope Cove. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed walking the coastal path and the local beaches. We hope to come back.

Beautifully presented cottage, well equipped, with great views.

However totally agree with some previous reviews that the parking description needs to be amended. The ‘ space’ is a narrow, gravel area with a low ridged edge next to a low wall, so half of the car is in the road and parking in front of the garage, the car is totally in the road. Thankfully it was a quiet time of year and our cars, being relatively small, were able to fit one behind the other along the road edge. The majority of other properties on the same side of the road, have extended their parking facilities in to their garden areas. As the property sleeps 6 if this issue was addressed it would be perfect!

The cottage was in a good location and was very comfortable.

However, there was damp in the master bedroom with wallpaper hanging off the wall. This needs to be addressed. Also, parking was difficult. Your listing states parking for 2 cars - that would be very difficult. To park in front of the garage door as suggested, a very small car would be needed. The main parking space was only half a car's width and passengers/ animals needed to disembark before the car could be parked. The listing needs amending with regard to parking.

The cottage is fabulously equipped and located, lovely comfortable beds and powerful showers, however it is in need of some TLC.

The sofas need replacing, they are very very uncomfortable! wallpaper hanging off of the wall in main bedroom, toilet holder broken to name a few issues. Having said that we had a great stay.

Great cottage, lots of facilities and great extra touches

Good sized accommodation with lovely outdoor spaces.

Easy access to beach and local shops. Comfortable beds and clean bathroom and shower room. Plenty of hot water. Ample crockery, cutlery and pans meant that the dishwasher could be filled before using. On the downside, there was evidence of dog hair on the downstairs furniture and carpets and general cleanliness could be improved. The light switches and door handles were sticky and corners were dusty.

The cottage was very well equipped.

However there was so much 'stuff' in the kitchen cupboards that there was no room for our food. We had to empty out one of the cupboards onto the washing machine in order to give us some worktop preparation space. Everything worked well and the outside space was perfect. Parking for our second car was much more difficult than described,

Fabulous cottage and everything was even better than expected.

Communication before arriving and prior to leaving was great with nice reminders of all the essential things like directions, parking and where to collect house keys. We loved our stay and the location is beautiful.

The only reason I put "Met expectations," is because we've been before and knew how good it would be.

The cottage was like home from home and spotlessly clean.

It was warm and cosy with games and books to entertain, and such a delight to have a super king bed in the master bedroom that was comfortable! Also a perfect location, with literally a five minute walk down a little trail to the beach, which has a lovely cafe called ‘The Cove’, that served fabulous fish and chips at lunchtime. Would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Sadly we clashed with the corona virus that curtailed our activity in the area a bit. Easy reach of the pub which was still operational. Really excellent "cottage"

A delightful house in a really convenient location - 5 minutes walk and you're on the beach or the coast path.

Excellent views from the master bedroom across the cove and out to sea. Bed was very comfortable and the level of equipment and finish was very high. Fully enclosed garden to the rear and patio to the front. The nearest thing to a complaint is that the kitchen is so well equipped there isn't any room in the cupboards if you buy food!

The accommodation is first class and as described, however communication between Sykes cottages leaves a lot to be desired

Hope Grove is a very nice place to stay and has a very welcoming pub and restaurant.

The whole area is very family orientated and dogs and children are made to feel very welcome. There is always a big bowl of dog biscuits on the bar counter for our four legged friends. Cottage View is a lovely house to stay in, plenty of room for all the family with lots of space.

Cottage View exceeded our hopes in many ways.

It was clean and fresh throughout and exceedingly well equipped. It's much larger than we expected on the inside and outside too, with bundles of space for four adults, a toddler and two dogs. The location is just fantastic, being so close to the sea, pub, cafe/bar (brilliant!) and shop. We all agreed that we should make it an annual trip as it would be hard to find a better family holiday location in the UK.

Excellent location and only a short walk from the beach but very steep.

Also, the steps from the house to the main road plus rear steps to the path are both steep so should be mentioned. Telephone and WiFi available but no mobile signal. Lovely views from the property. We would go back again.

As this was our 9th visit to Cottage View we are very aware of what to expect.

As expected the owners do not stand still but continually look to upgrade, improve and renew. It is a very comfortable and well equiped home that offers an excellent situation balanced with all we need for a lovely holiday.

We are returning visitors to this property. It is a superior house, well situated, well appointed. What makes it outstanding is the attention to detail to anticipate their client needs. I have never been in a property that supplied all the big things and all the small things that you would normally never think of.

What a super find. A house with a view. Equipped with all one needs for a holiday by the sea, the view, plenty of space in all the rooms, the kitchen, user friendly with good china, glasses, cutlery saucepans etc. Lovely sitting room area linked to the conservatory with plenty of extra items, information about the area, it's history, the maps, interesting books and a super selection of games and jigsaws which kept us all amused! Fantastic! Three excellent double bedrooms, the largest huge with a super king bed and a stupendous view over Hope Cove. The smallest with bunk beds. Good bathroom upstairs and shower downstairs plus a downstairs toilet. All excellent. From the parking space to the property was a pretty garden and steep steps down to a really useful patio plus table and chairs near the kitchen. Outside the conservatory with a view over the Cove, yet another patio with table and chairs. All in all a great home-from-home although perhaps not suitable for anybody who couldn't manage steps or hills. The coastal path is only a couple of minutes on level ground from the car park although the path down to the Cove is steep. Wonderful position for walking the Coastal path. The changeable weather did not stop us having a wonderful, comfortable week. Thank you Cottage View!

Would like to rebook-better if somewhere to dry clothes

Cottage View is a real home from home. The facilities available are of the highest quality giving all the family the space they need on holiday. A family bathroom/toilet a separate toilet and an additional shower room reduces the morning wait when coming with all the family. the conservatory is just the place to read and doze whatever the weather and being able to sit up in bed (in the main bedroom) and watch the sea roll into the cove is an added bonus.

Really beautiful location, plenty of living space and minutes away from beaches, paths and amenities. Towels could have been a bit bigger, though!

Really comfortable beds. Great location. Beautiful house, but the interior decor could be more stylish. Sitting room and conservatory is a bit like an old people's home! Very spacious and comfortable. Kitchen a bit dark.

Loved cottage and area 5 mins from SW Coastal path and village.

I have used two properties during the many years I have used C&C and they have always been well maintained and beautifully presented.

Perfect we'll equipped & positioned holiday home, hope to return in the near future! Home from home feel good factor, great find!

The house was lovely, well presented and comfortable (main bedroom bed a little less so). Every thing you could need was available. We will book again when we return to Hope Cove.

We have enjoyed another relaxing week here in Hope.

The house has been cosy and welcoming with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We love our coastal walks with the dog, either towards Thurlestone or Bolberry, also trips to North Sands and Salcombe. Food has been good at The Cove in Hope also Winking Prawn in N.Sands and the Victoria Inn in Salcombe. A coffee and a cake stop at The BeachHouse at South Milton is always welcome too. May I congratulate you on creating such a cozy house for us to borrow, we absolutely love the cottage and have already booked for next year.

We have been to Hope Cove twice before and have definitely found "home from home". You have thought of absolutely everything to cater for every type of family with children, from young to older generation(my father loved visiting and reading your extensive books) My children and I are actually quite sad to leave Cottage View and Hope Cove even more now. For those visiting like us with young children, highly recommend a day out to Pennywell Farm, Hope Cove Beach, South Milton beach (National Trust), crabbing on the Harbour wall in Salcombe ( park in Shadycombe Rd CP). Food is always good in 'The Cove', we did the new pods which was novel. Ice cream is fabulous at the local shop and they really do have supplies for almost everything. Tesco in Kingsbridge (15 mins) or co op in Malborough (5 mins). Thank you for being fabulous owners who really do care about their guests stay. All The best!
