Goody

Second year running we have stayed at Goody, and yet again we loved being back and staying in Hope Cove.

Goody is perfect for our family, especially for our 4 year old who reckons she can hold her breathe from Goody to the sea! Goody is very clean and well equipped with all facilities and amenities, with all situations catered for. The only comment I have is to check a couple of the panel boards on the decking, as they are not supported and someone could turn an ankle. We are already planning our next stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Goody.

It was wonderful to be able to walk down to the sea from the property and swim every day, as well as have the pizza van and pop-up cocktail bar on hand while we were there. The view from the terrace is beautiful and it is lovely and peaceful during the day and at night too. We loved seeing the thatched cottages out of the kitchen and bathroom windows. Really helpful to have the parking place right there by the property. Wonderful walks on Bolt Tail and along the coastal path to Thurlestone. We should have brought our SUP to use in Hope Cove. The only few things we would mention are that there isn’t any facility for recycling at Goody, unless we missed that; it would be useful to have a parasol provided for the property. Thank you for letting us know that there should be a shared one between the properties, but we didn’t ever come across this and when it’s sunny (as it was for us, wonderfully) it was too hot to sit at the picnic table as there’s no shade. The final thing worth having on the information is that the single room is only suitable for a child or an adult who doesn’t mind not being able to stand upright, in terms of the height of the ceiling. We had intended for an elderly relative to sleep in there, but the height of the ceiling made that impossible for him and we had to move the bed into the lounge, which didn’t matter as the weather was so good we didn’t need to use that room otherwise. We had a great stay at Goody and love the area. Thank you!

This was our second stay at Goody with our cocker spaniel.

The apartment is in a great spot and is well equipped. But beware the powerful oven, which cooked our quiche in half the expected time!

Such a cosy top floor apartment and a good size too, Nice and clean with a comfy bed.

Excellent location very close to the beach and amenities. Hope Cove itself is simply stunning, great walks , watersports and great restaurants I was very sad to leave.

One of if not the nicest holiday accommodations I have ever been to, so comfortable and cosy.

Most relaxing week I have had in devon. We will 1000% be back to stay here! It is absolutely perfect.

An excellent property with such easy access to the beach - walk across to the pubs in a few minutes - and close to Burgh Island, Salcombe & Kingsbridge.

The kitchen was particularly well equipped with a great range of pans & utensils and the place was generally really well fitted out.

The property is in an amazing location and was comfortable and reasonably well appointed.

Sadly the property was let down slightly by poor maintenance. Past feedback had been ignored. We replaced batteries in the radio and two clocks at our own expense, and sorted the problem with the toaster by emptying the rubbish in the crumb tray including large sultanas! The microwave timer does not always work, and the hot water system is virtually non existent! Happily the shower is a seperate unit. The oven has had most of its labelling scrubbed off and is not easy to work out how to operate. It should also be made very clear the single bedroom is not much more than a cupboard with very low headroom, OK for a child but any adult of normal height would struggle. A little more care in maintenance would make this a lovely property.

Would have liked a bathmat to step on out of shower instead of having to use a towel.Great to be able to hang out washing but more pegs needed. Overall very happy with place thankyou

Very spacious comfortable apartment.

The problems in the comments book hadn't been resolved. Only 1 wine glass and no battery in radio. Otherwise everything fine. No shop nearby to speak of and parking quite tight.

Lovely apartment, clean and well appointed.

Good views over Hope Cove and the decking is nice to sit out on. My only criticism would be the single bedroom, it’s basically a cupboard off of the lounge, you have to duck down to gain access and can only stand upright in the middle of the room and I’m only 5ft 4in. It did however have everything I needed and the bed was comfortable. It just should be mentioned in the description as it’s only really suitable for a small person.

All fine except the Toaster kept tripping the electric - so could not be used

A perfect bolt hole from which to explore the South Hams and Hope Cove area.

Ideal property for a couple with a dog. The accommodation was tastefully decorated and furnished and the kitchen well equipped. The parking spot was a bonus. Even though there were a couple of places to sit and relax outside, we might bring our own loungers next time for the decking area. Although this communal area is spacious with beautiful views, regrettably (and slightly incongruously) it’s shared with the neighbouring property where smoking is permitted.

The Goody cottage in Cove Haven was very comfortable and so near the beautiful beach and restaurants in the village.

We also loved the coastal walks with magnificent views. I would recommend bringing your shopping with you as the little shop has very limited items- no fresh veg. Has bread, milk, tins and many more things. They also do hot Cornish pasties and ice cream. Bring paper towels as they are not supplied. We’d go again

Goody is a very comfortable apartment, actually better than we anticipated.

We were initially sceptical at not having a sea view but the photo of the comfortable sofa made us choose Goody. Plenty of room for 2 to spread out! Obviously being an apartment in the top of the building means low hot water pressure so that would be our only gripe. We didn't need to use the low ceilinged 2nd bedroom which would only be suitable for a child. Perhaps update some of the tired looking pictures on the walls? Another comfortable outside chair would have been good - the one Lafuma chair provided was excellent. However these comments are very nit-picky and in no way affected the enjoyment of our stay.

Goody is in a great location. It was spotlessly clean and one of the best equipped holiday apartments we have ever stayed in. The apartment is comfortable and a great place to relax after a day walking on the coastal paths. Only tiny thing was no J-cloths to wipe down the kitchen surfaces - but we brought our own so not an issue. Would 100% recommend Goody to others!

This is a great little apartment in a superb location, close to the Restaurants(2) by the harbour and with coastal walks on the doorstep.

The apartment was spotless and well equipped and the electric fire in the lounge was a welcome addition as we found it quite cold despite the storage radiators. On a negative note I think in the description it should be made clear that the second bedroom is very cramped and restrictive. We were two adults that required both bedrooms and my sister hit her head on more than one occasion despite trying to remember the low pitched roof.

Could do with coffee,sugar and tea sachets left in kitchen as you usually have these if you go anywhere else otherwise a lovely cosy cottage.

Well equipped, clean and comfortable in a lovely setting close to harbour.

Some nice touches However very small bedrooms and bathroom is ridiculously small. No coffee machine. Also no recycling which is disappointing.

Goody is a lovely place to stay at - very comfortable and well catered for.

We loved our time at Goody’s and Hope Cove: the location (nearby the sea, the Coastal Path, nice restaurants), the cozy, bright, well equipped clean home (Goody)).

We were lucky to have sunny weather so I would have loved a more comfortable possibility to sit outside.

Lovely cosy spotlessly clean apartment in Hope cove thoroughly enjoyed our stay very comfortable everything you need the only problem was the hot water tap in the kitchen water just trickles out but other then that perfect would definitely recommend.

a very well run and equipt holiday apartment that we would have no problems recommending to others.

The second bedroom ceiling was to low for a adult never mind a child.

Apart from that it was amazing would highly recommend.

Little disappointed it wasn’t the best we have been to with you but the parking was a real problem.

If you have a bigger car other than that we will not be going there again due to the fact about what you said and we found it expensive for what it was.

Super super clean, very cosy little cottage!

For us it would have just made life easier if the garden was bit more enclosed but I know that was said on the description. Only other thing is that I felt it was missing dinner bowls. but Overall super cosy and clean!

Lovely property, excellent location too.

We loved our stay, it was so close to harbour and beach and to beautiful coastal footpaths.

It was lovely and peaceful, except some noise on the last night, Easter Sunday. We would thoroughly recommend this place. It is very comfortable with sea glimpses and well equipped.
