Had a lovely couple of weeks in Maceley.
The house was very well equipped and comfortable. The back garden was excellent for our Labrador and enclosed with side gates to the front of the property. Comfortable bed with balcony from the upstairs master bedroom with amazing views. Short walk into the town with pubs, shops and cafes. The Crabshell restaurant was excellent for food. Would highly recommend this property.
My wife and I, my son, daughter in law and two granddaughters stayed at Maceley for a week.
On the whole we had a very pleasant stay. It is a nice property in a good central location, close to all that Kingsbridge has to offer and easy to get to Dartmouth, Salcombe etc. We did however have a few minor issues. On arrival we found that the downstairs bedroom had not been cleaned and the carpet was covered in dog hairs and therefore the room smelled. This was soon remedied with a good vacuum and opening the window. The wardrobe in that room is very small. There were no extra liners for the kitchen bin and if you want to use the bbq there are no utensils provided. On the plus side, the garden is lovely, with fantastic views over the surrounding countryside and is very peaceful.
The four of us enjoyed our week at Maceley.
The property was well equipped, and very clean. We enjoyed having breakfast in the lovely garden, as well as the occasional dinner, when we weren’t eating out. It’s a short walk to a couple of decent pubs (The Crabshell, and the Seven Stars), so very convenient. Our only negative comments are regarding the inadequate and slightly stained, shower curtain downstairs, and having stayed during a very warm week, the lack of opening windows (bathrooms, landing, and bedrooms) it was difficult to get a decent flow of fresh air through the property at night. All in all, a very enjoyable stay, and would be happy to book again, if we visit the area in future.
