Set over three floors and with views over the pretty recreation park, tennis courts and the scenic Kingsbridge estuary, Victoria Lodge has been wonderfully designed with contemporary furnishings and stylish interiors throughout and offers a splendid setting for large family getaway to Devon, at any time of year! Be sure to admire the traditional charm of the striking open fire, as you snuggle close to loved ones in the homely sitting room and begin to discuss all of your adventures for the upcoming days. Pop the kettle on in the gorgeous kitchen/diner and enjoy a warm cup of coffee at the oak topped breakfast bar, before taking to the impressive range cooker to prepare a hearty afternoon snack for all to devour whilst gathered at the generous dining table. Open up the patio doors and venture out into the well-kept garden for a moment of peace and quiet, before returning inside to the adjoining utility where you can keep on top of the laundry with the help of the washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also the added benefit of a ground floor shower room. Retire to the quaint snug, where you can enjoy a moment to yourself before taking the staircase up to the first floor to discover a large and luxurious Jack-and-Jill bathroom, home to both a bath and a spacious walk-in shower, that leads you through to a restful king-size bedroom. Split over two levels, the first floor also boasts a second bathroom with a corner bathtub, along with two additional bedrooms consisting of a king-size and a twin which can be arranged into a super-king-size upon request. Completing the bedrooms are two double bedrooms that can be found resting on the second floor, each finished with lovely fresh bedding and a plethora of storage space to house all of your belongings. Spend your days learning of this market town's rich history with a visit to the quaint Cookworthy Museum. The picturesque estuary is a stone's throw away, lending itself perfectly for canoeing and boating - hire a paddle board from the Crabshell Inn and discover the coastline from the water. Perhaps enjoy a seafood treat later, or hop aboard the River Maid for a leisurely ride to the sailing town of Salcombe. Stock up on treats from local artisan shops or stop off at one of the many well-established restaurants within the area for a delicious evening meal. Visit Quayside leisure centre just over the road boasting a full sized swimming pool and offering many leisure activities. Bask in the sunshine on Salcombe North Sands or visit the Salcombe Maritime Museum, before crossing over to East Portlemouth for an exhilarating hike along the South West Coast Path to the iconic Start Point lighthouse. Enjoy afternoon tea at The Gara Rock Hotel, climb to the top of Burgh island to overlook the Art Deco style hotel favoured by Agatha Christie and Oscar Wilde. Wander the exotic gardens of the National Trust owned Overbeck's and see Thurlestone Rock, before grabbing a snack at the Beach Hut. Escape to Devon with an unforgettable holiday at Victoria Lodge.

Large comfortable house with plenty of space and bedrooms.
Clean bedding and towels were supplied. Secure well kept gardens for pets and ideally situated to walk into Kingsbridge. 5 minutes from the ferry and bus stops. The house had a relaxed feel and we enjoyed our stay there. House was basically clean, but could have been better and there were no ceiling lights in the older part of the house. Lots of lamps but some did not work. There could have been more information about the aga range and where items were such as the freezer was. Just seemed the house needed a little tlc to really make it shine.
The property suited our needs well and was in a pleasant location overlooking the water.
There were a few areas that weren't totally clean - a few cobwebs here and there but nothing disastrous! Overall, a good place for us to spend a week with the family.
The property has a great location, lovely gardens, plenty of parking and is well proportioned throughout.
The kitchen is well equipped. Linens, bathrooms and kitchen worktop areas were clean. Unfortunately we broke one mug - apologies for this. However the house is “tired”. Particularly poor is the internal woodwork which needs completely sanding back and repainting by a professional decorator - skirtings, windows, doors, frames and bannisters. The front door is also in a poor state. It also needs deep cleaning. I’m an Airbnb host and am well aware that cleaning teams flash in and out and don’t have time for deep cleaning tasks. The kitchen/utility units and light switches are grubby. Skirtings are grubby. The kitchen floor had not been washed on arrival and was marked and sticky. One attic bedroom had pubic hairs in the bedding and several on the floor by the bed legs. This same room had little bugs in the bed. They were harmless but not nice to see. I sent photos of some of the deep cleaning issues to Skyes but received no reply. Maintenance wise my bedroom door wouldn’t shut at all (too much old thick paint I suspect) and the walls had been partially repainted but not entirely. There was a clear smell of urine when I was sat in bed but I couldn’t locate the source. It seemed to be from the bed area but the mattress looked clean to the eye. It did wear off as the week went on but was really unpleasant and disturbed my sleep. On one evening we returned home to a powerful smell of drains throughout the kitchen living area. It happened only once so we put it down to old sewerage pipes. It’s a lovely property and it’s just a shame it’s in need of investment to bring it up to standard.
