1 Camperdown Lodge

We had a fantastic stay at Camperdown Lodge, and with the double sets of garden gates separating the rear patio from freedom it was perfect for our dog.

1 Camperdown Lodge was a lovely place to stay!

Very clean and Tidy. Thank you for the biscuits and fizz, a lovely touch and our dog Ted loved the biscuits in the doggy treat jar. The bed is super comfy and the shower is great. Everyone is very friendly. We had a great time. Thank you so much!

Beautiful apartment in a great location.

Recommend walking to Soar Mill Cove stopping at the South Sands restaurant which is very dog friendly for a coffee. Many thanks for some much needed head space!

We loved 1 Camperdown Lodge!

!! Travelled from Australia to Salcombe. It’s clear that the owner really cares about their property. Very full stocked kitchen amenities. Night lights in the hall way for kids, travel cot and bed guard all available. We were staying here as it was close to family and friends. The property has great parking and a lovely courtyard whilst we didn’t have a dog it is a very dog friendly flat. We will be back to Salcombe in the future and hope to stay at 1 Camperdown Lodge again.

What an amazing few days away with our doggies and little baby daughter!

Myself and my husband had a wonderful few days away from the hectic farm life! Thank you so much! The property was faultless! Has everything you need, very clean and very tidy! The added extra of the enclosed garden made it much easier with the dogs! Such a beautiful location! We will be back again to visit next year for sure! Thank you! ☺️

This was our 2nd visit, very clean and comfortable, home from home, the location is very quiet and a good base for visiting surrounding beaches and gardens.

Salcombe is lovely with lots of places to eat. Will be back again I'm sure. Thankyou for the fizz, biscuits and doggie treats, much appreciated by us and our Vizla.

We had a really lovely stay in August - the flat was spotless and modern Had all the amenities needed and well stocked with all the essentials We found it comfortable and home like!

Thank you for the little extra too Just a couple of things to improve on The accuracy of the location description it stated its a leisurely stroll into salcombe but the location of the property is at the top of a very steep hill and altho its only a 15 min walk its a tough one especially back up - we’re a young family with 2 teenagers and it was a push to walk back up everyday, and parking is tricky in the town you need to get there early to park especially in the long stay car park you need to be there by 9.30am. Evenings I would imagine are better but we never did this. And parking isnt cheap. Curtains in the bedroom are very thin so let alot of light in the morning maybe black out blinds would be better The garden was very untidy when we arrived. We had to sweep as lots of leaves and dirt. Patio could do with weeding and jet wash If you are having plant pots I think it would be nicer to have fresh plants in them as they were all dead so would be better just to remove them if not planting up. The garden furniture was dirty lots of leaves and cobwebs we cleaned this too. But it was a lovely outdoor space just needs a bit of TLC Great having a parking space at the side of the propery. We really did enjoy our stay and would return in the future. Salcombe beautiful, lots of places to eat. Never had a bad meal Primo a must best pizzas The bake house - amazing bakery and so cheap Great shops & vibe Co-op very over priced so take what you can from home Best beaches South milton - 10 min drive good parking East portlemouth - mill bay - ferry across short walk - clear blue waters North sands - 10 min drive - get there early in peak season for parking. And def vidit The winking prawn. Enjoy salcombe

A lovely flat with everything we needed for our stay, the only downside was the extremely steep descent into Salcombe which I feel some people would have been unable to manage.

The entrance to the flat next door was very scruffy with empty cans & bottles littered, this was off putting when we arrived

The property was furnished nicely and the bathrooms were good too.

The location was good too and parking was available right outside. The one downside was the smell of dogs that lingered in the property. Upstairs flat also tended to come home and make a fair amount of noise at 10pm ish.

One of the best dog friendly properties we have stayed in, the enclosed garden was a bonus.

Everything in the apartment was perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Nice property situated in residential area above town.

Very well equipped and comfortable. Front garden now fenced so unless you dog is a jumper, will be fine. Lovely sunny paved back garden, however, my spaniel managed to get out. Needs more fencing in the right hand corner. The extractor in the bathroom appeared to be blowing rather than extracting. Received email in advance asking if we wanted twin room making into double and replied yes please. I emailed again, approx 3 weeks before to make sure and had reply that they would advise cleaners. Still twin beds when we arrived !! Uphill walk back from beach and town which was fine. 20 mins walk max, to North Sands and 15 mins max to town. Lovely places to eat and had a lovely holiday. Hope to return sometime

The accommodation was lovely, very comfortable and clean. Unfortunately, the weather was wild, so we left early. We would love to come back!

The accommodation has been refurbished, decorated and upgraded to the highest standards.

We found it warm and clean. Point of observation the extractor fan in the en suite was blowing as opposed to extracting so any damp air caused by the shower would be spread throughout the property. This wasn't an issue for us as we didn't use the shower

We had a lovely week in Salcombe.

It was advertise as 1 camper down lodge but on the door it’s says flat which it is and with the mould and us sweeping the patio area and the dirt on shower screen between screen and bath and to be told there is damp because of the old property we should expect damps x to be told to leave the property on Christmas Eve and dirty dishes and having to ask for dinner plates and the people up stairs we’re noisy and read that to strip beds and and put in black bag but to leave pillows protectors and mattresses on but these should be changed as well

It's always perfect, very clean and comfortable. Well located with sufficient parking. Would recommend to anyone.

what a fab week in a perfect bolthole. Everything thought of, super!! Well done. Super comfy flat and the outside area is great for my dogs. Thank you for letting us stay and for the doggie treat, fizz and biscuits. North Sands and Burgh Island were fabulous and defiantly recommend the food at The Winking Prawn North Sands and Pilchard Inn, lovely fish and chips at Burgh. Best week weather wise absolutely made the holiday and coming back to the flat! Great Time!

Positives: Well-equipped kitchen Local books eg walks very helpful Outside back garden Parking at accommodation Not-so-goods: Noise from upstairs flat.

Kitchen and bathrooms could do with a deep clean-en suite shower in particular. Both showers can’t be used at the same time-en suite water went very cold. Smell of dog in front room-not very bad but it can be smelt. This was our fault as at the time of booking we didn’t realise that the accommodation was dog friendly. No objections to dogs but would rather not smell them. Unnecessary rubbish dumped around the parking area-wasn’t a great 1st impression. Think listing should state very steep walk from Salcombe-we were ok with that but it wouldn’t suit some.

Hi, we had a lovely stay but just a few minor issues.

Sink was blocked in both bathrooms and the parking situation wasn’t good. You have stated there is allocated parking for the house but we had to park on double yellow lines throughout the whole week. Cars were not parked correctly and didn’t move the whole week so we were forced to park on doubleyellows all the time. Not great on holiday worrying about getting parking tickets but the flat itself and where it’s situated was perfect.

Superb holiday accommodation, very clean comfortable and everything catered for.

Could not fault it

Not the cleanest of properties but not bad enough for us to not stay for the period we booked.

Location was fine as was the parking. The double bed could do with replacing and although we didn’t use the second bedroom the headboards on the single beds were not good, quite dirty.

Brilliant stay at 1 Camperdown lodge, really cozy, homely feel.

Hosts kindly gifted us a bottle of Prosecco and dog treat for our puppy on arrival. Really comfy beds and great amenities, would stay again. Minor issue with iron, small crack at the base which causes water to seep out as your ironing but all in all amazing stay!!

We have stayed at 1 Camperdown Lodge before.

It is very comfortable and well equipped.We like the fact it has parking,outside space and takes dogs. We also like the fact it is on one level.It is quite a walk up the hill from the town but we like being in the quieter part of Salcombe.It is a nice walk down to Northsands from the property.We would stay here again.Thank you

Lovely welcome gifts and Prosecco, even a Christmas tree.

Warm and cosy with everything provided. Took a bowl home by mistake but son in law back down soon so will return. Thank you for a lovely Christmas break with family round the corner Outside light by steps not working so a bit difficult in the dark but I’m sure it will be sorted

The en-suite shower room was freezing cold and constantly running with condensation.

The twin bedroom was listed as twin beds where in fact they were not, the beds were far to narrow and short for an adult, if you turned over in the night you fell out of bed plus they were on casters so they moved too easily. This room is plenty big enough for normal size beds. Overall the flat was clean and comfortable and the garden was good for the dogs. It was just a shame about the two points above.

We enjoyed our stay in the very clean and tidy flat, so easy to walk into town and to North Sands.

The garden was perfect four dogs, also being close to the playing fields, so dogs had morning and evening walks. Will stay again.

We have had a great time here.

The Lodge is very comfortable and lovely to come back to after a rainy day of sightseeing and walking, Taking the lower car ferry from Dartmouth to Coleton Fishacre and Greenway was fun. We managed to do some of the South West Coast Path and make it to Bolt Head. A great place to eat is the Victoria Inn down on the main street in Salcombe, great range of food and caters well for vegans and non vegans! Thank you for a lovely stay and making the place so Christmassy, really lovely
