Beautiful, iconic building which we loved sharing with the established bat colony.

We enjoyed our stay and none of the following affected this:- we would have appreciated a heads up about the road closure; all toilets and basins are uncomfortably low which might prompt us not to recommend the apartment; would have appreciated a loaf of bread and pint of milk when we arrived; the sofa and chair are different from the photos - the electrics on the chair don’t work.

The toilets in this property are very low to the floor and incorrectly fitted.

Any adult over 4 feet high would struggle to use them. All male users will have a difficult and uncomfortable time using these toilets. They all need refitting to a normal height. The apartment is in a very good location.

We have stayed at this property twice before, and it never disappoints.

4 The Pottery was an amazing base that was spotless on arrival.

The renovation of this building has been done with quality in mind: beautiful wooden floors and beams, exposed stone, iron curtain rails, stunning window joinery. We loved it. With our dog, we just nipped outside occasionally and there is a walk to Dartmouth Castle, which has a tea room. Dartmouth itself is big enough to be interesting but not too big. We loved Foss Street. We recommend coffee at the Dart Marina hotel, which also does good crab sandwiches. Coleton Fishacre is a lovely NT property across the river by car ferry. We recommend The Maltsters Arms in Tuckenhay though don’t let your satnav take you there. Pricey but worth it. A lovely base and a great time had by all. Thank you!

Very well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing break. Enjoyed the walk into Dartmouth with so much to see along the way and Castle nearby with bluebells out was a bonus.

We had a lovely week at 4 The Pottery, parking very helpful and very quite in the evenings.

Just a 20 min walk into Dartmouth town and a lovely walk up to the Castle for an ice cream. The cottage was very clean, good showers and hot water, Oven might need a new fan in it as it was noisy but everything else very nice. We would recommended this for a relaxing holiday.

The apartment has a charming character and is very comfortable.

The location provides easy access to Warfleet creek, and is a short scenic walk from town or castle, in opposite directions. The road between Warfleet and town is closed to vehicles currently which provides seclusion and quiet, most welcome. The electric reclining chair in the apartment didn’t always work, maybe a loose connection, waggling the wire at the back solves issue. Also a note where outdoor bins are located would be helpful.

Stayed in Dartmouth many times but the Potteries head and shoulders above anything else we’ve stayed in!

Great layout, excellent location (..parking locally is a nightmare so to have a flat parking space outside the door was a real bonus..), quiet and a very quality fixtures and fittings!

Lovely walk into Dartmouth centre with views of the river Dart and nearby walks for our dog by Warfleet Creek. We had a lovely time and would definitely book this place again.

Just got back from a wonderful stay at Number 4, The Potteries, and I can’t recommend it enough!

From the moment we arrived, it felt like a home away from home—peaceful, beautifully kept, and with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. The property itself is immaculate. Clean, cozy, and tastefully decorated, with thoughtful touches throughout. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking (though we did treat ourselves to a few meals out!), and the living space was perfect for curling up after a day of exploring. Comfy beds, hot showers, and plenty of space to unwind. What really made it special, though, was the location. Surrounded by the gorgeous countryside, it’s ideal for anyone who loves walks, fresh air, and a bit of quiet. We visited a few local spots like Kingsbridge,Salcombe and Paignton and it was lovely to come back to such a comfortable base each evening. Whether you’re after a romantic escape, a family trip, or just a peaceful few days away from it all, Number 4, The Potteries, is a hidden gem. Already thinking about when we can go back!

Andy and Natalie Magraw (owners of the property) were kind enough to send us details of the alternative route we needed to take to reach, 4, The Pottery, due to a landslide on the road from Dartmouth town.

This information was not forwarded by Coast and County Cottages. The property was excellent, we enjoyed 'an outside space' by the Warfleet Creek, a few moments walk from the property. Since Coast and Country have been bought out by Sykes/Forge Holiday Group, a company that uses an online Digital Communications system, the customer service is terrible, it proved impossible to speak to a human being to get answers to simple queries. In my opinion, the telephone numbers provide resulted in text messaging/chats, all of which were responded to by an AI system, not a human being.The digital communications system did not have the right 'boxes' for us to tick to get anwers to our queries. We were unable to phone through to the office on the telephone numbers provided on their website and as a result we will not be booking the property again using this company. The only way I was able to discus several 'pre arrival' queries with a representative was to pretend I was booking a holiday!! They were quick to answer the phone then. The attitude of the staff in the Salcombe and Dartmouth office, on the telephone, ranged from indifference to rude. When we walked into the Dartmouth Office on day one of our holiday, the young receptionist was pleasant but could not help us with our queries and deferred to her colleagues. Everything that I was told that they would do a week prior to our arrival was clearly not done. They did not contact my brother in law regarding his late arrival at another property, nor did they reassure me that I would receive a refund for a pet that was not going to stay. They did not send an email to confirm the above. Appalling customer service, hence the zero rating for Coast and Country cottages and a five star rating for the property. In a nutshell, property is great but the customer service from Coast and Country Cottages (alias Sykes/Forge Holiday group) is dreadful.

Such a lovely ground floor apartment to stay.

Very well equipped kitchen. Warm and comfy beds. Lovely short stroll to water front and castle. The place has a loft apartment feel to it. Allocated parking. Although the place seemed busy, really couldn’t hear anyone else in the place. Good WiFi and smart TV. My only observation is that you need to take care of you are tall! Some areas where the ceiling is low (although sign there to remind you to duck) and the toilets are really low. However, if you are fit and have good thigh muscles you’ll be fine!

Just got back from our stay at this lovely apartment, first time here, but we have stayed at another apartment in the block before.

It’s a very homely apartment, on the ground floor so excellent for off loading your luggage. Lounge, dining and kitchen on the top level and a WC, with two bedrooms downstairs, one en-suite. Everything is so tastefully decorated throughout and extremely comfortable. Lots of information in a folder which helps with all the heating instructions and oven etc. You still cannot access the potteries via Warfleet Road, the road still hasn’t been repaired, and means you have a good detour to get to the potteries down some tight country lanes. Counting down the days for our next holiday here in May,

This is an excellent place to base yourself, just on the outskirts of Dartmouth with a short stroll into town and none of the hassle of having to find parking.

The pottery was very comfortable and very quiet and we had a great time. Our only feedback was that our ensuite floor wasn’t cleaned very well, with hair on the floor and dusty tile edges that form the skirting, there was also a pair of pants left on the floor behind the bedroom chair, so it hadn’t been pulled out at change over as they would’ve been seen. We appreciate that at this time of year the cleaners must be under pressure to get around and get all the properties ready for the next guests. This bathroom is looking a little tired as the panelling is starting to warp and the flooring showing signs of wear. All the toilets in the apartment are set extremely low and so anyone with mobility problems would struggle, you definitely had to use those thighs to get up and down! All that being said we would book this apartment again as we did enjoy our stay.

The Pottery is a beautiful property in the perfect location so close to Dartmouth.

I would highly recommended staying at this location.

The apartment was like a hone from home with everything we needed. It was spotless, stylish and very comfortable. Andy and Natalie were good hosts and we would definitely be back here if we visited Dartmouth again. Thank you.

We stayed at 4 The Pottery with friends as Dartmouth was a halfway meeting point for us.

The apartment is beautifully finished and well equipped, one of the best we have stayed in. It is a 15 minute walk to the town but what a lovely walk it is. We used the Castle Ferry to return one day which was a lovely experience. All in all cannot recommend highly enough

Very well equipped both clean and comfortable. Everything you need. The airfryer was a great extra.(Maybe a nespresso machine on the breakfast bar would be good addition

Our stay at No 4 The Pottery was extremely comfortable, convenient for the town and walks to the castle and beyond and, above all, very well-equipped and spotless.

The property particulars are accurate and the owners have given thought to storage throughout the property and to the current-day extras such as an air fryer, which added to the kitchen facilities. We had a wonderful stay and would like to go back as soon as possible.

A beautifully presented and very comfortable Apartment providing plenty of well maintained and good sized accommodation.

There was nothing extra that was needed, it was great having the Juliet balcony which allowed the lovely fresh air into the Apartment, the bed was also very comfy. The only comment I would make for future holiday makers is the walking distance into Dartmouth. We were lead to believe that it was "just a short 12 minute walk" into the town. This may be true if one is very fit and agile, whilst we are very capable of , and enjoy a good walk, it was steep in a couple of places and took us approx 30 minutes each way. Apart from the walk we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 4 The Pottery - many thanks.

It’s a lovely renovation which has left lots of the original building . It’s a bit quirky but has excellent facilities. The location makes a perfect base to leave the car and walk. The building is personal to me as my mother worked there in the late 40s. Thank you to Andy for the welcome message and gift. It’s a nice personal touch.

We had an amazing stay for our 25th wedding anniversary.

The location is great for walking to the centre of Dartmouth to do some shopping and the Art Centre, and still be in the quiet area. The slipway is next to the building to walk the dog and go to the Castle and more woodland walks. We did drive up to Blackpool Sands - lovely pebble beach with a cafe. This property has parking which is a treat in Dartmouth. The property had everything we needed for cooking, beds were very comfortable. Overall a great property!

Very nice cosy apartment with excellent facilities and easy walking distance to Dartmouth Town centre.

Fantastic local walks from apartment without the need to use your car. Our only criticism is the tightness of the parking spaces (we had paint chipped on two doors of our car which we believe happened whilst parked at the apartment) there is additional parking within the location which is blocked off and unused, perhaps this area could be opened up, therefore, each apartments parking space could be made slightly wider making it easier for people to access their vehicles without squeezing at the risk of damaging other peoples cars. Especially as alot of cars are now SUV's.

A stunning apartment, equipped with all you need, a parking space and super comfy beds after a busy day exploring.

A two minute walk to the estuary with fabulous views and easy access for a morning swim or fishing. A lovely welcome gift for us and even cupcakes for the dogs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will hopefully be back again soon.
