“We had fabuous week staying at Harbourside.”

When we first arrived and explored inside it was just WOW! The apartment was surprisingly spacious, spotlessly clean, had quality furnishings and everything you could need. And of course, that view! The bed was very comfortable and so was the sofa, there was plenty of hot water and the heating kept us cosy and warm. There was a PIR light outside which was useful when returning in the dark. Yes there were steps to the property: they were fairly wide and easy to use with a good hand rail, and ...

Yes there were steps to the property: they were fairly wide and easy to use with a good hand rail, and well lit. It was a bit of an effort to unload and load, but so worth it for the quality of accommodation - we're in our 70s and managed just fine. The view was wonderful both from the lounge and the main bedroom - right on the river, you could sit and watch all day - the ferries, fishing & sailing boats, even some hardy swimmers! And wonderful ever-changing skies. We had no problem with rubbish or recycyling, it was all quite straightforward. It's just a 5 minute walk to the town centre, and there are lots of walks from the door, either along the prom to the upper ferry or down to the castle. We were quite lucky with the weather (early March) - mostly sunny with a cold wind. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our week staying at Harbourside and would love to return.

The property

One of Dartmouth’s most sought-after apartments, Harbourside occupies a commanding position on the water’s edge, offering stunning views across Dartmouth Harbour to the colourful, picturesque village of Kingswear, historic Dartmouth Castle and the shimmering sea beyond. Spacious, light and airy, this beautifully appointed retreat is quietly situated yet just a short stroll from the heart of Dartmouth, placing you near all that this celebrated harbour town has to offer. Step inside to discover a wonderfully inviting open-plan living space, where a well-equipped kitchen flows into a stylish dining area and comfortable sitting room, complete with a sofa and armchairs.

Pour yourself a favourite drink and settle beside the large bay window, where sailing yachts, ferries and fishing boats drift and bustle across the sparkling water in an ever-changing tableau. Both bedrooms are beautifully appointed — a generous king, complete with its own private balcony and en-suite, and a well-presented twin with en-suite shower room.

Wake to the sound of the harbour and take your morning coffee on the balcony as the first ferries cross below. Beyond your door, Dartmouth’s boutique shops, galleries, celebrated restaurants and welcoming pubs are all within easy reach, along with spectacular walks along the South West Coast Path and a wonderful array of river and coastal cruises.

Just across the water, the Dart Valley Steam Railway departs from Kingswear, offering a magical journey through the Devon countryside.

For those wishing to venture further, a golf course and spa, the popular Woodlands Family Theme Park and the beautiful Blue Flag-awarded Blackpool Sands beach are all within just four miles. Harbourside is the kind of place guests return to year after year — and it’s not hard to see why.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.

Access to the property is via 30 stone steps.
