    “In the spirit of constructive criticism.”

    ....when we arrived the flat was not as clean as hoped. Tumble dryer was clogged up with dirt, there were biscuits and wrappers in a kitchen cupboard and the grill had not been cleaned properly. Despite being reported by the previous occupants, the kettle and the shower in the main bathroom were still broken. Having reported immediately, we only received a new kettle after about 4-5 days and the shower was still broken when we left after 10 days. Different members of Sykes were in regular ...

    ....when we arrived the flat was not as clean as hoped. Tumble dryer was clogged up with dirt, there were biscuits and wrappers in a kitchen cupboard and the grill had not been cleaned properly. Despite being reported by the previous occupants, the kettle and the shower in the main bathroom were still broken. Having reported immediately, we only received a new kettle after about 4-5 days and the shower was still broken when we left after 10 days. Different members of Sykes were in regular contact to see if everything was okay with our stay but - frustratingly - they did not always seem aware of the issues. The flat itself is well equipped, comfortable enough with a nice balcony but it is on the first floor so is surrounded by flats on all sides, so one should expect a bit of noise.

The shower was unfortunately a situation out of our control, the plumber had found it difficult to get hold of the part needed to fix the issue. We are sorry you felt that the property was not cleaned to a good standard upon your arrival, if we had known we would have sent someone to rectify this as soon as we could. The picturesque village of Thurlestone is popular with both beach-goers and watersports enthusiasts, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Thurlestone and South Milton Sands within walking distance. Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.
