Nicely kept and comfortable cottage.

Front garden fully enclosed and ideal for letting our dog out. Friendly and helpful owners. The only downside was a leak under the kitchen sink causing a midnight disturbance. The owners were apologetic and the maintenance was quickly arranged the following morning. This issue was the only reason we could not give a 5 star rating. A lovely location and ideal for a quiet break with your dog.

This is my second stay at Cloverwell.

I love the location overlooking the forestry commission land with its great doggy walks. The cottage is small and comfortable with everything you need for a good holiday cooking for yourself. It was cold when I was there but beautifully warm and cosy indoors. The owners are lovely friendly and considerate. I will be returning.

Wonderful week spent in a wonderful location.

Rob, Paula and family were very friendly and the arrival basket with bread, milk, eggs etc was a lovely touch. The accomodation is excellent with all you need for a comfortable week away. Using the large field at the back of the propery is a bonus when travelling with a dog. Thank you, just the relaxing week we needed, and Rob you are right, the steaks in the New Inn at Moreleigh are one of the best we have ever had.

my wife and i along with our small dog penny spent a week at Cloverwell our stay was enjoyable and comfortable everything we needed was at hand a welcome pack was there to greet us sadly the good old British weather was against us but did get to go and visit a few places the small entrance hall at the bottom of the stairs was very handy for leaving wet things and drying the dog will come back.

Welcome packages for both humans and dogs very welcome.

Extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Very quiet and peaceful location. Lots of walks to do in the area, woods, orchards etc. Our labrador loved his week there, exploring the countryside. Dark skies reveal fantastic starry nights. Kingsbridge is only 20 mins drive away with two main supermarkets and shops etc. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a nice peaceful break in the beautiful Devon countryside. A credit to the owners, Robert and Paula.

First floor accommodation in last property in village with extensive views over adjacent woodland trust areas -great for dog walking.

Would recommend trips to Dartmouth, Salcombe Greenways and Burgh Island. Spacious open plan living area with all equipment needed to be self catering. Owners were friendly and helpful. I will revisit next year.

Such a thoughtful arrivals basket, nice to not have to go out shopping the minute you arrive .

The accommodation is in a beautiful area and we were lucky to have wall to wall sunshine all week.

The hedgerows were simply stunning. The accommodation is very light with great views over the fields and trees. Everything was exceptionally clean and there is lots of work space for cooking your own meals. In general it’s fully equipped with every convenience to make you feel home from home. There is a walk straight from the door, over the field, and straight into the pathed woods so very convenient for walking our dog every morning . Lots of other walks nearby and places to visit. A basket was left for us on arrival which contained some lovely goodies and our dog certainly enjoyed the dog treats. All in all a great week.

Lovely flat on the side of a lovely house.

Everything catered for and extremely clean. We were left a lovely welcome basket with eggs, jam, marmalade, butter and bread and everything we needed was provided. We met the owners and their dog and they were really nice people. The close proximity to Salcombe and Kingsbridge was ideal and it’s a fabulous part of Devon. With places like Cloverwell in this country there is really no need to undertake the hassle of holidaying abroad. We were quite lucky with the weather and if you were fortunate enough to get a scorching hot week in Devon it would compare favourably with many Mediterranean islands. We would definitely highly recommend this property.

Lovely flat in a beautiful and peaceful setting with friendly owner Rob.

It was a comfortable home from home and very clean. Very good base for exploring South Devon. Quaint Kingsbridge being a gem with daily needs catered for. Thank you for the thoughtful food hamper and dog treats/towels etc., and for allowing use of your adjacent large field for exercising our Golden Retreiver. Will definately return in the future.

Lovely stay.

As a woman travelling on my own it is comforting knowing P + R were just down stairs. Good size garden for the dog before going out. All beaches just about on your doorstep but far away enough not to get stressed in the ‘holiday hussel’. Clean, and everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Welcome hamper a lovely touch after a long drive. Would stay again. Thank you x

This was our fifth stay at Cloverwell.

Situated only a few miles from Kingsbridge and Salcombe it is only a short car ride away from some stunning beaches and coastal walks. The cottage is well maintained, clean and tidy and is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful part of Devon.

We've just returned from staying at Cloverwell in Woodleigh for Christmas.

What a wonderful relaxing and peaceful place to spend some time. The apartment is spotlessly clean with absolutely everything you could possibly need. It has a very well-equipped kitchen which was perfect to cook our Christmas Dinner. Cloverwell is in a very quiet location and we really relaxed here. The apartment was extremely comfortable and very clean. It was super cosy and perfect for us considering the bad weather we had. Cloverwell is in a great location and had great parking and was close enough for leisurely walks in the surrounding woods.

We had a lovely week at Cloverwell although a bit rural it is a great base for visiting the whole area with coast line within just a few miles and lovely towns with so many great shops.

Overall an excellent stay,the welcome packs were a lovely surprise.

The use of the shower was a bit of a mission to get a comfortable temperature we found that the dial around halfway seemed to stop the erratic temperature changes. We both thought that the sofa bed was not particularly comfortable as a sofa.

Gorgeous surroundings. Helpful info at property. A slightly larger sofa would have been more comfortable for a relaxing night in, however, it was adequate. Beautifully kept, well looked after. List of amenities on Sykes website would be helpful. Felt totally at home and really appreciated the starter pack. Loved the dog and chickens. Very welcoming. Many thanks indeed

Very clean property easy parking for the car , good pub at Morleigh The New Inn for food if you eat out, good enclosed garden to let the dog out in.

..excellent facilities, in a quiet rural area with lovely views. The views from the cottage itself were really special. We loved watching the chickens going about their business and the family dog was a real sweetheart. Coming from a quiet village in a rural area ourselves, we did appreciate where Cloverwell was sited and the local area.

Paula and Rob were very friendly and welcomed us as “guests”, which we appreciated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week, great walks from the door step. We ditto all past comments, and recommend The Queens Arms at Slapton for a lovely lunch in a very pretty garden.

A lovely well appreciated welcome pack and even treats for the dog. Plenty of off road parking at the property so no worries about where your car is parked .Also it is comforting to know that if there is a problem the hosts are on the premises. We shall return once again in the future.

Everything was provided and more, nothing was overlooked lovely quiet getaway.

Very thortful welcome pack eggs, bread and condiments, the couple where very friendly and welcoming, we got some eggs and ho ey as well from the front of the driveway. Will definitely be staying again

A spotlessly clean little flat in a beautiful part of Devon with many countryside walks from your doorstep.

A generally well equipped kitchen and some thoughtful touches - welcome basket much appreciated. However, we felt the cottage is now in need of some updating and the issues experienced rather spoilt our stay. In particular, the bed mattress is extremely uncomfortable with broken springs that ping and dig. The duvet and pillows are thin, old and discoloured not feeling as hygienic as we would wish; similarly the bed linen requires replacing. We would also mention the limited seating in the sitting area - provision of only a small sofa, restricted our ability to stretch out our legs and relax comfortably in the evening after a long day enjoying the countryside. Finally, the electric shower is outdated, producing weak pressure and unpredictable water temperature.

This is now our third stay at Cloverwell and we look forward to our forth.

The high standards have been maintained over the years including a charming welcome pack. Ideal for the two of us and our Golden Retriever which from October onwards we can take to the beautiful local sandy beaches. Located in a small picturesque village… have a relaxing time

The cottage was really nice to stay ing , it was clean bright and had every thing you would need for our stay, we arrived and found a welcome food hamper and also a dog hamper of items to use while there, also lots of information about the local area even a book with walks you can do ,the cottage was in a small drive to Kingsbridge a really nice town to visit also near lots of beautiful little beaches to visit .

The bed was a little hard and narrow for our taste and the bathroom quite small but all very adequate for our needs. A lovely location and friendly hosts.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Cloverwell cottage for the high quality of its facilities, cleanliness, and welcome from the owners.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cloverwell, with the unexpected bonus of wonderful sunny weather. Unfortunately the booking process was unclear and complicated, and so this comment is addressed to Sykes. We found Cloverwell on Dog Friendly Cottages, and started a booking with them. This was stopped at the payment stage - "our problem, not yours" the page said - when a company called Snaptrip intervened. A combination of phone numbers to call, new websites to process and the discovery of very unhappy reviews of a company called Sykes followed. Consequently we were concerned about what we might find when we arrived. As described above Cloverwell was lovely and there were no problems at all. But a day into our stay a company called Countryside Cottages contacted us to see how the stay was going and to offer its services if required. Why are so many different companies involved? What is the relationship between them all?

This is our second visit my wife and l love Cloverwell.

The welcome pack is a lovely touch and the cottage is located near to farm shops and sandy beaches. We will certainly be back. If you want peace and quiet in a village then we would recommend Cloverwell.

Really nice property providing a comfortable and private space despite the fact that it is part of the main house.

Well equipped and very clean. We loved the area too as it gave us access to many fantastic walks in easy reach of the property.

Accuracy of listing was a reflection on the rental company in that some of the items that were provided at the property e.

g. hairdryer, tea towels, oven glove were not listed on the property page. The property was nice and clean and the facilities were adequate. The setting is lovely and peaceful and owner nice and helpful. There are lots of lovely villages and seaside coves within a short distance.

The owners were very welcoming, and It was beautifully clean. It contained everything we needed including a welcome basket on arrival - very much appreciated.They are truly dog friendly too, very important to us. The location was perfect and close to all our favourite haunts including Kingsbridge and the amazing beach at Bigbury. Would definitely recommend.

Cloverwell is a lovely cottage, it is immaculately clean, and every little thing has been thought of, to ensure you have everything you need to make it feel like a home from home.

it is also ideal for your dog as the fenced garden is perfect and the surrounding walks and exercise facilities are also excellent. An ideal location to explore the beautiful Devon countryside and to switch off from the hussle and bussle of life in comfortable surroundings but located within travelling distance of larger towns and lots of beaches if you want to venture further. I would highly recommend Cloverwell.

Couple of things I noticed this year the pillows need changing and shower head needs descaling.

Location beautiful, quiet, and views over the hill. Landlord really friendly but leave you alone to enjoy your stay. Great welcome basket, inc bread, honey, jam :-) Nothing to complain about !!

This cottage was within 20 miles of many pretty beaches and it was only a few minutes drive to the SW Coast path.

There is also a really lovely riverside walk within walking distance. Not to be missed. Also local woods. The cottage has lovely views from the upstairs sitting room and was in a very quiet village. Very clean. The kitchen/dining and seating area has lots of natural light and was a nice space to sit in the evening as we could not eat in restaurants due to COVID during our stay. The enclosed garden is lovely to sit in when the sun is shining, which it did every day for our holiday in April! In previous reviews the bathroom was described as very small, it is small, like an en-suite, but was perfectly adequate for us ( husband is 6 ft). Hosts were friendly, but we hardly saw them. They did kindly provide us with Milk, bread, fresh eggs, honey jam and marmalade, which was really nice and we saw their hens every morning around the grounds, the eggs were very tasty. We have stayed in many cottages and we loved this one for the location especially, it was a very relaxing stay. We felt very safe everywhere we visited, COVID guidelines were well adhered to. Thank you.

I absolutely loved Cloverwell!

It had everything I needed and a few little extra's like e.g. eggs and bread left by the owner and even some little extra's for my dog. A great place to spend a few quiet days in a small village. However, having said all that I was not very happy that when I arrived at the cottage late in the afternoon (almost dark) after a long drive the key was not in the place where it was supposed to be. I had used the code for the little box by the door but the box was empty, no key anywhere. I rang the bell of the owner's house but no one seemed at home. I was not sure what to do, this was actually quite upsetting as I was on my own in a place totally unknown to me. Eventually - much later - a man appeared from a shed at the back and he turned out to be the owner. He then gave me the key and all he said was that this had never happened before, no apology at all. So that was really not a good start to my stay at Cloverwell.

This was my 2nd visit to this location.

As a pet friendly accommodation it's ideal with an enclosed garden to allow your pooch to have a wander. Even with lock down looming - It didn't disappoint. The owners do a fantastic job with the cleaning and ensuring you have home from home comforts. There was a generous welcome tray when I arrived - that was very much appreciated and went down a treat. I will definitely book for another visit in the future.

Cottage absolutely fantastic, clean, well equipped loads of ground for your dog to run and all fenced in, owners are so friendly and helpful.

Cloverwell is a great place to stay.

The accommodation is well thought out, it's very clean, and comfortable, with wonderful countryside views. It was amazing to wake up and see the hens roaming freely in the field. The hosts left a welcome pack which was very nice to receive, and there was one for the dog too! We would highly recommend this accommodation, especially if you looking for peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life. It gives you time to unwind, and relax after spending the day exploring the South Hams. We can highly recommend Bigbury beach, dog friendly too! Thank you Rob & Paula for a great stay.

Cloverwell is a comfortable property for a couple and is doggie friendly.

The owners live next door and are very friendly, providing a welcome pack and treats for doggie too. There is a small private garden and the Woodland Trust community woodlands are within easy reach if you enjoy walking. The rural location means that it is very peaceful, yet within a short reach of the shops in Kingsbridge. The open plan living space is bright and comfortable and provides everything you need for a pleasant stay.

We were extremely pleased with ‘Cloverwell’.

It was a real home from home, spotlessly clean and cosy, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. There was a lovely basket of goodies to welcome us on our arrival. We highly recommend this holiday home, it is one of the best holiday homes we have ever stayed in.

A beautiful Annexe, well equipped and very comfortable, so peaceful, we loved the countryside views and the chickens just wandering around was lovely.

The cottage is just as pictured, cosy, stylish, quiet and sparkling clean. We will definitely be coming back, hopefully later this year.

Location is a bit off the beaten track but quality of accommodation very high and great welcome pack for us and our four-legged friend from owners.

Nothing was to much trouble, the owners where very friendly and helpful from the welcome basket for their two legged guest and one for their four legged friends. The flat was very clean and welcoming, the field and wood where great for walking the dog.

Amazing Cottage, owners live next door are lovely & the dogs, we were given a welcome pack of bread, eggs, butter, milk, biscuits, preserves & a doggy basket for our Retriever Labrador of treats, towels, etc. in case we needed them, really lovely thought, clean, warm & welcoming cottage, it was our second time here & just as amazing as our first visit! Woodland Trust opposite is a bonus if you have dogs! acres of woodland for them to romp round & dog friendly beaches close by, we all loved it!

Cloverwell was an excellent location for a visit with a dog. They had thought of everything that you could possibly need, even down to welcome baskets (including a doggy one by the front door). Having stayed in Kingsbridge a number of times in recent years - once I'd got my bearings of where Woodleigh was as opposed to the centre of Kingsbridge - a few minutes in the car and I was on the Quay. Would recommend the location and accommodation to anyone - even the time of year (Oct/Nov) the weather couldn't have been better.

Very good apartment, spotlessly clean, lovely walks through local woods, excellent welcome pack. Shower room very small but plenty of space for towels and toiletries. Bedroom also very small and, although hanging space was adequate for myself, a couple would have found it insufficient. Having said that, the website did say that the bedroom was 'cosy' which most of us would interpret as 'small'.

This apartment was perfect for a couple and one dog to relax and get away for a week by the coast. The owners were terrific hosts but not intrusive at all. We were welcomed with free range eggs,preserves,honey,cookies, butter,milk and tea coffee & sugar if you needed them. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and airy. It was a lovely touch leaving the dog some goodies and essentials down at the bottom of the stairs. The views are beautiful and the village location idyllic. It was a huge pity that the week we stayed we had a horrendous amount of rain so were unable to explore very much. The collection of village history books proved extremely useful and my husband enjoyed reading them whilst it lashed down with rain outside.We loved the holiday despite the weather.
