Beesands

A slice of South Devon at its very finest, this thriving fishing village enjoys a mile-long shingle beach, that is backed by rolling green fields and a freshwater lake. There’s a traditional working feel to the village, and commercial fishing (crab and lobster) still remains a major part of the local economy. Locals, and visitors alike enjoy the village for its down-to-earth, relaxed feel.

Fish is plentiful in Start Bay, so expect to catch a range of cod, spotted dogfish, bass, mackerel and pollock. If you’re not so lucky with your fishing efforts, fear not, you’ll likely find fishing boats offering up the catch of the day on the village green.
