    The house we stayed in this time was in a great location for us however there were a few things that left us feeling let down. The house itself could be lovely. It had all the kitchen items needed for a comfortable break. The housekeeping really let it down. Dirty muddy foot prints all over kitchen area. We appreciate the weather is grim but we took off our shoes at the doorstep and respected the property. Why didn’t housekeeping do the same?? Extensive cobwebs in the attic room from bedside ...

We appreciate the weather is grim but we took off our shoes at the doorstep and respected the property. Why didn’t housekeeping do the same?? Extensive cobwebs in the attic room from bedside cabinets to walls and on corners. I’m not talking little webs, these were well established webs that I had to dust and clear. Not what you want to be doing before getting into bed after an eight hour drive!! The bed sheets were worn and very bobbly to say the least, so much so they were uncomfortable. This is not what we would expect from such a lovely house. We feel really let down to be honest. We would love to come back to the house if such issues were rectified as this was a stones throw from my parents house and would be an ideal base for regular returns. Again lovely house and many thanks for the lovely tea cakes and biscuits upon arrival. Please sort housekeeping and we will be sure to return.

About the location

DAWLISH

Teignmouth 3 miles; Exeter 13.4 miles; Exmouth 19.7 miles

A charming seaside town set on the southern coast. The town of Dawlish offers all of the facilities for day-to-day living including a pleasant variety of shops, restaurants and cafés and a small theatre. Dawlish is famous for its Black Swans that live with other wildfowl on the Dawlish Water that runs through the central town park down to the sea, at night in the summer it is beautifully lit by strings of coloured lights. Dawlish comes with a wonderful, sandy beach with a crazy golf course also nearby, it is the perfect place for a family holiday. Up the coast is Dawlish Warren that can be reached by car or train or, for those energetic types, a walk along the sea wall. Further afield, Dawlish mainline station offers access to Exeter, Exmouth, Torquay, Paignton or even Plymouth, trains are plentiful.
