“The property is in a lovely position with great views, the property is well built and a nice design.”

It is let down by poor maintenance, the hand rail to the steps to the lookout tower is very loose and cannot be used safely, the tower should be closed until this is fixed, a notice saying not to be used by children is inadequate. The door to the double bedroom does not close as the lock is broken and the door does not fit in the frame, as several others in the property. Two frying pans in the kitchen had a thick layer of congealed grease on the bottom. I did contact Sykes prior to our visit as ...

I did contact Sykes prior to our visit as I had seen previous reports of poor maintenance and was told it had been reported to the owner and corrected. Window cleaning did not seem to be on the cleaning schedule as there were many childrens finger marks on the inside of windows etc. The window blinds were broken on several of the windows. This could be a lovely property with some good maintenance.

“The house was lovely and certainly in a fantastic position.”

The outside of the property let it down with unkempt garden and broken furniture. We would certainly like to go back again.

“The house is really lovely, with a fantastic position right on the beach, the nicest house we’ve ever stayed in.”

However, the garden needs care, the grass needed mowing and part of the seating was broken. The real problem was the mosquitoes in the house, we are both suffering with numerous bites. It spoilt what otherwise was a great holiday.

The property is in a great location the roads around it are challenging they are so narrow the house was clean but no hand rails or non slip mats in the bathrooms make them potentially dangerous some of the basics ie hand wash shower gell scourers clothes would have been a help but you must tell future guests they will need protection against mosquito bits we got well and truly bitten Windows hadn’t been cleaned caked with salt Hope this helps Robert

“Although the location of this premises is lovely, if not a little hair raising to get to due to the amount of narrow lanes.”

The property COULD be amazing however, the lack of care shown to the presentation along with concerns around safety leaves us not able to recommend this property. Unless you want to be bitten to bits and live in accommodation set up for a student with no matching crockery and glassware and a lot f this damaged. Not even sufficient for the amount of people the property is let for. A long with this is broken furniture inside and out. The downstairs bedroom has a small double and it is so tall that my mother (5'7) could not get herself into the bed safely leading to her having to sleep on the sofa all week. The bath is narrow and slippery with no slip matt provided. The matresses and bedding were stained. The stairs to the looking point are SO dangerous. The outside of the property is tatty dirty and the garden is not usable for anyone with mobility issues. The communication with the owner was non existent. The house was not ready for us on arrival. All in all sadly a very frustrating disappointing and expensive stay.

“An amazing location and house.”

The house is very spacious and it's lovely to have a bathroom for each bedroom. When we arrived at 4pm the house had not been cleaned but we called the owner and the cleaners arrived soon after, apparently they had a car breakdown and were very apologetic. The house was clean once they had finished. I would strongly recommend anyone visiting to take strong insect repellent including a plug in. There are A LOT of mosquitoes at this property and we all had 15-20 bites after the first night so had to go out and buy some really strong stuff. The property does also get very hot, ceiling fans would have been great. All in all we had a brilliant stay and would recommend.

“Lovely house couldn’t fault it but unfortunately was let down by the unkempt garden and rusty old barbecue which we would not even use ,however this did not spoil our holiday as its an amazing location if you don’t mind driving some really narrow lanes to reach it,bit disappointed to find there was ironing board but no iron had we known we would have taken our own .”

“The location of this property is stunning!”

!! So lovely and peaceful. Sadly we were disappointed with the house, both inside and out. Outside was filthy and a rusty old bbq that I’m not sure who would cook on, dirt and cobwebs all over the house and balcony. The inside was well decorated although furnishings let it down - ripped bedding, poor quality, dirty duvet, pillows and cushions and I would say only surface clean. When you open the doors, the surrounds are very dirty. There is a problem with mosquitos in the main bedroom. Outside table and benches were uncomfortable as falling apart. Gutted because I would have rebooked this place for the setting but not now.. I contacted coast and country whilst on holiday but with no response. Very sad as this could be such a special place to stay.

“The house was lovely but the outside really let it down.”

Lots of old outside furniture dumped. Nowhere to sit outside. The bbq needs replacing dirty and rusty. Could do with a table and chairs for the outside patio. Back door wouldn't open so the snug was not use able too hot. We phoned and asked if someone could come and open it and was told they would send someone but no one came. The garden itself couldn't be used as grass was about 2ft high. It looks like the house has been let quickly and needs attention. The house itself and the position of it is lovely if you can do the tiny roads in and out. We had a nice week but feel the house outside needs a lot of work to make it comfortable for warm nights.
