“We chose the property after the 5* reviews BUT they certainly did not apply to the new owner.”
The kitchen and seating area were dusty with cobwebs and we suspect the cleaning was done by the previous guests. After contact the owner arrived with dish washing tablets, J cloth ,scourers, w.u. liquid ,bin bags …….which turned out to be wheelie bin bags!! Toilet cleaner and a new brush and container were supplied …….. the shower was nice un less you were the second person to follow, it ran cold.
The bed was very comfortable and excellent with clean linen.

I very much appreciated that I was offered a synthetic duvet instead of a feather one, when asked at the time of booking.
Tge chest of drawers I would send to the tip, it’s old and stained.
The hill is very steep down to the property, fortunately my husband drove down to unload. But you have to park at the top near to the dustbins. (Guess who has to take those up on departure)
We never saw the owner, a cleaner for the rest of our stay.
We were celebrating our 50 wedding anniversary and a packet of biscuits
was given as an apology
l would have preferred £50 off or more would have been better so we could eat at the Manor Inn, excellent food, lovely staff
