Excellent!

!!!! Perfect position for Fully enjoying Dartmouth and its beautiful river views. Apartment didn’t miss a trick with first class appliances lovely relaxed furnishings spotless bedding and towels . Highly recommend and will definitely be back .

Its a lovly appartment well presented great furnishings and fantastic views The only drawback is the stove which remains a mystery We will be back

We loved the location and we adored the apartment Sadly we arrived on a day when the walk-in shower (a prime reason for booking this particular property) became unserviceable.

We know that this was beyond anyone's control and it was just a coincidence that it was spotted on our arrival day. But this took the edge of our stay. Beccy from the office dealt with it and arranged a refund but it was very sad for us. The apartment has been styled by Elize (sp?) to a very high standard. The kitchen contains almost everything the visitor could want. We needed more sharp knives - perhaps a decent knife block? - and some nice mugs There were only two "nice" mugs and load of utilitarian white cups that don't live up to the standard of the rest of the apartment. We had some queries about the reviews on the website before our arrival. (They have mostly been sorted). BUT trying to ring Sykes cottages was an absolute nightmare Your customer service is at a very very low level when you don't want to answer the phone and you have no one on the end of the line that cares about your customers. even the local office in Dartmouth say "Oh no we don't have a phone number. You cant ring us but you can come back here tomorrow to talk to us". WHAT!! what sort of hospitality business puts the welfare and the wellbeing of the customer so very low. POOR PERFORMANCE by SYKES. The staff when you meet them or actually gat a human on the phone are pleasant and do their best - but senior management - what on earth are you thinking? It is a CRAZY policy - however much it saves you by not having staff at the end of the phone I hope you try ringing your own company as though you are a customer - cos someone senior should do that!!!

This property is in need of refurbishment.

It’s a lovely apartment with wonderful views but lacking TLC. Cracks in on-suite bathroom brought silverfish in shower. No current instructions for oven so had to ask the neighbour! Not enough china for 2 people never mind 4 people!! No serving dishes for vegetables or salad etc. Towel rail in en-suite bathroom not working. All lightbulbs in lamps far too low & impossible to read with them in the bedrooms.

No comfortable chairs or couch No where to hang hats and coats Lack of instruction manuals- cooker, microwave etc.

Generally "tired," not expected value or condition for the rental price.

22 Dart Marina especially the lovely view across the Dart and the welcome basket and basics in the frig which were most welcome after a long journey. Two things which could be improved upon would be instructions of how the oven worked - we muddled through each time we used it. Secondly, the easy chairs and and settee looked, and were tired, The arm rests in particular, were dirty and unattractive. They would benefit from a good clean and arm rest covers. Both chairs and settee were not comfortable to sit in for any length of time as they did not support the upper part of the body and head. Other than these two points we enjoyed our stay and would hopefully return in the future.

The apartment is very spacious and benefits from a stunning, riverside location in a modern, well kept development.

Dartmouth town centre is a level five minute (ish) walk away, and the M&S Simply Food store even closer! We were thrilled with the generous welcome goodies, and it was lovely to find olive oil and other basic condiments provided in the kitchen which is very well equipped with ample crockery and glassware. I couldn’t find the instructions for the oven, but it was fairly intuitive to operate. Unfortunately we had to wash most of the cutlery on arrival as what appeared to be a decaying and very sticky jelly baby was found in the cutlery drawer. The sitting room curtains were drooping as the hooks had come away from the rings in part (I tried to re-attach them but the rings are broken), and the curtains in the twin bedroom have a large hole in. Sadly the door from the wardrobe in that bedroom is also missing (-not a design feature I imagine as multiple hinge holes are visible!) and only four, non matching, hangers provided. The location of this apartment is unparalleled and we hope to return as we enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing stay (albeit perhaps with curtain hooks & hangers in our luggage!)

I would like to start by quantifying my one star review.

This is not a reflection on Sykes Cottages, or the excellent service they provide. But it is a reflection on the presentation of 22, Dart Marina and how the owners care about the comfort and experience of their guests. The apartment, like all the Dart Marina apartments, is of course excellent, as is the view from the fantastic window overlooking the marina. But that is about where the excellence ends. The overall look and feel of the apartment is very tired and old, and no attention to detail is made to provide what is described as a 'luxury' stay in the listing. A lot of the furniture needs to be replaced, it is in no way pertaining to luxury accommodation and, quite frankly, some of it, especially in the second bedroom, looks like it was purchased in a charity shop. The heavily stained sofa and armchairs in the living room do not give an impression of cleanliness, and it is obvious the apartment hasn't been deep cleaned for some time. There is no provision of any of the 'little extras' that you would expect from a luxury property. No toiletries of any kind (except hand soap in the bathrooms), no kitchen roll, very limited toilet paper, no soap for the washing machine or spare bin bags, and about 5 or 6 plastic coat hangers in each wardrobe, which isn't sufficient for a week long stay. There were also a total of 2 coffee pods left for our 2 guests for the week-long holiday! We regularly book and stay in Dart Marina properties and book various different apartments both for ourselves and family and friends. Number 22 is by far the lowest standard of accommodation, and we will not be booking it again unless the owners start to take their guests' reviews seriously, and spend a bit of time and money getting the place up to standard. Don't let this review deter you from staying in Dart Marina, which is a wonderful complex, but unfortunately I would not recommend Number 22 to anyone if you are looking for any level of luxury at this present time.

Beautiful apartment but it needs some TLC, for example, the main bedroom curtains are very faded, and there are large cracks on the bay window sill.

The views from the property are amazing and we love the area, having stayed in many similar properties in Dart Marina, but there are lots of small issues in this particular property which added up-the boiler broke 3 times whilst we were staying (seems to be a recurring theme in other reviews?

) the helpline was difficult to use (I got diverted from one number to another to another etc), the curtains were threadbare, blinds were missing in the second bedroom, the window sill in lounge had big cracks, the door to the en suite didn’t close, there was no welcome pack or any “nice” touches. The local office were really helpful, but we lost a day of our holiday waiting for the maintenance team and then a plumber (only one key for the property and no key safe). All individually small issues, and the views really are stunning but when added together the price didn’t match the overall experience.
