2026 is now the twentieth season that Onedin House has been available as a holiday home for everyone seeking the best possible experience.
During all this time it has become a widely acclaimed place to stay in Dartmouth, as so many reviews over the years underline.
Onedin is a beautifully presented late Victorian property, located only minutes from Dartmouth’s town centre and boasting stunning views across the River Dart to Kingswear, and right out to sea.
Named by its former owners, the leading actors in The Onedin Line, the famous television drama series in the 1970's which was filmed locally, the property is on four levels and accommodates up to six people.
Two steps from the street open in to an attractive, comfortable lounge area, which in turn leads to a very well equipped dining room with a lovely oak table and six chairs, and a well-designed kitchen with granite work surfaces and everything required for home cooking.
The back door leads out on to a secluded, south-facing patio with a teak table and chairs, and beyond this is a lawn and mature garden with a bench from where the views stretch right out to sea.
On the top floor is a delightful sitting room with a dormer window opening out onto a compact balcony with stunning 270-degree views across the river, right upriver to the Higher Ferry as well as far out to sea!
There are three bedrooms - on the first floor are a double bedroom with river views, and a front-facing twin bedroom.
On the second floor is a master bedroom with king-size bed and simply stunning river and sea views.
On the first floor is a family bathroom, and on the second floor, there is a spacious bathroom with bath and separate shower.
An annual parking permit is provided for one car for the Mayors Avenue public car park.
Presented as a home-from-home, Onedin House is a delightful, well-located retreat which is equally well suited for up to two families or three couples aspiring to a fantastic base from which to explore and oversee historic Dartmouth.
