“The location was perfect, parking in Dartmouth is a nightmare but we did know that.”

A few pointers from us during our stay; The top room was really tough to get up to and 2 of the guests couldn’t safely get up It was also very warm up there with the heat we had so I slept downstairs for the majority of the stay. The outside area was bigger than we though which was good but the furniture was pretty dated and had lots of bird poo all over it we tried to clean some of it The railing on right and you walk up to the top terrace was very wobbly and unstable so I think it might ...

Some local business leaflets wood have been nice to add we found a lovely thing called Fizz boat on Facebook we would recommend

Thank you for your feedback. The Retreat is perfect base for exploring Dartmouth area, the Fizz boat sounds good! There is a basket in the lounge with leaflets but I will check it still has a selection in there. You were lucky to have had nice weather and there is a fan provided. The outdoor space is a bonus in the town. We will check the furniture on our next visit and repair the railings, thank you for letting us know. We start the season with full cupboards of tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper and cleaning products but the cleaning team have been asked to top them up. There are local shops nearby where coffee pods etc could be purchased. Property Owner

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town.
