What guests are saying
From the moment we opened the front door, we knew we were going to love staying here and we did, despite a couple of issues.
This is a lovely property. Décor, furnishing and presentation were all great. We found the beds on the soft side. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped. Everything was clean. There was an issue with a water leak late on our first night, dealt with by Sykes staff in person and a plumber fixed the problem the next morning, but no running water overnight. Unfortunately, the same problem reoccurred 2 days later by which time we were also aware of other plumbing issues. A full day with no running water. The owner did offer us compensation which was appreciated. The property looks better in real life than in the photos and the sense of privacy here and the views are great, both of the village and the church in one direction and the river and estuary in the other. The location is great with a small local shop just up the road and several pubs and a farm shop not far away. Great location, great property, great views. Somewhat let down by plumbing/maintenance issues but we understand that the owner is having these issues fixed after we leave and we’d certainly stay again if we were in this area.
Throughly enjoyed our stay and are looking to book again for next year when we can confirm our dates.
Property is lovely, well equipped and comfortable. The village is a beautiful place to be, we enjoyed our Pizza takeaway from the Ferry Boat Inn (FBI). From previous feedback the key safe has been altered to be more accessible. However the draining of the top floor bath/shower is still very slow and we also found the hoover to be blocked... again very simple fixes and not effecting our stay or our wish to return. Thank you
Well equipped three story property in a beautiful area.
Bedrooms and bathrooms lovely, especially loft bedroom and bathroom. Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, this was a bit on the small side but still pleasant and comfortable. Stairs to negotiate from ground floor bedrooms/bathroom to living area and stairs to garden. A bit of a challenge for people with limited mobility. Lanes in the village very steep and narrow but we got used to this over the course of our stay. Overall a lovely week in a comfortable property.
