    “The cottage was perfectly adequate for our stay, great location close to the FBI and the Quay.”

    Very nice shower room and the kitchen was well equipped for self catering needs. Comfortable bed and plenty of towels provided. We know Dittisham well having visited on many occasions, but for those guests new to the area, it would be useful for the owner to keep the information book up to date and also perhaps add the wi-fi code, some local recommendations, places to visit, eateries, local tips etc. A little TLC makes a lot of difference!

Park up in a nearby public car park, before making your way to your new abode.

Step inside to be greeted by the living/dining room, complete with seating for four, plush sofas, a TV with DVD player, and a lovely electric fire to light on cooler evenings.

Continue into the compact yet well-equipped kitchen, providing the essentials for a self-catered stay.

As day turns into night, retire upstairs to reach two double bedrooms, both serviced by a ground-floor shower room with the luxury of underfloor heating underfoot.

Awaken to a fresh coffee before heading into Dittisham, where you'll find a Post Office, The Anchorstone Cafe, and the Ferry Boat Inn, where you can dine out, before heading down to Dartmouth Harbour, Dartmouth Museum, and Sugary Cove Beach.

Catch the ferry over to Kingswear to find further amenities, or continue to follow the coastal path by foot, bringing you to the beautiful shore of Blackpool Sands, and the National Trust nature reserve of Little Dartmouth; for thrill-seekers of your group, the Woodlands Family Theme Park is nearby, perfect for all types of visitors.

Complete your break by reaching Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, Paignton Pier, and the Broadsands Beach, before travelling further to Torquay and its hub of attractions.

DITTISHAM

Dartmouth 3.5 miles; Totnes 7 miles.

Dittisham is a picturesque village surrounded by rolling countryside, located on the banks of the River Dart in the South Hams. Wander along the quiet streets lined with quaint, stone cottages and lush gardens, until you reach the waterfront. Dittisham’s quayside is often regarded as the hub of village activity. Stop at the Anchorstone Café for a spot of lunch while taking in the fantastic river views. Try your hand at some crabbing with the kids on the dinghy pontoon. Visit the iconic pink Ferry Boat Inn (or FBI as it is known locally). Ring the bell for the ferry and head across the Dart to Greenway, the once holiday home of the renowned Agatha
Christie. For outdoor activities, there are sailing schools and boat hire also paddle board and canoe hire, as well as plenty of
scenic walks. The harbour town of Dartmouth is just a short drive away or ferry away, and offers an array of shops, a cinema, plenty of restaurants and even a castle. Further afield, you will find plenty of fantastic beaches such as Blackpool and Slapton Sands, as well as key destinations such as Salcombe, Totnes, and Brixham to explore.
