“We have stayed at a number of Sykes properties but this has to be up there with the best!”
The house is a real gem, such a great location for the town of Torquay but also for the surrounding area as well. We walked and used buses most days, only getting in the car to venture further afield a couple of times. There is a shop close by and lots of places to eat in town, we hardly needed to use the kitchen at all!
The house is very clean and in excellent condition. The beds were comfy, the bed linen and towels all pristine. We loved the style of decoration and the uncluttered air of the place. The house was plenty big enough for 4 although might feel a bit cramped for 6.
The hot tub was brilliant, in a really quirky backdrop with the church right behind it. The owner was most helpful on the one occasion there was a small query re the water levels in the tub.
2 small points that could be improved - a clothes airer would come in handy for wet hot tub towels (I know there was washing line but this was quite short and went across the top of the tub so was a bit compromised). Secondly the shower arm in the ensuite bathroom would not hold the shower head up - ok for a 4ft midget but no good for my 6ft husband!! Minor problems on an otherwise great stay.
