The booking said the double bed was downstairs but it was upstairs and we are so glad the double was in the bigger lighter room The patio needed cleaning and all cobwebs removed from the first floor balcony before use The accommodation was quiet and number 6 had its car parking space next to it which was great

“Cottage was well fitted and equipped throughout with Commercial 'hotel quality' fixtures, fittings and bedding.”

Beds were very comfortable. Compact kitchen was well fitted and fully equipped. We wanted for nothing! Heating and hot water worked well but timer seemed to be set to GMT rather than BST. Only drawbacks were: Window in downstairs bedroom looked out on to a stone wall; No window or ventilation in downstairs ensuite, no privacy if you wished to sit outside on either the balcony or patio.

“Well equipped, very clean, spacious accommodation.”

This was our second stay and would recommend. Only minor criticisms which we didn’t get round to reporting as they didn’t really affect us to much as we mainly used downstairs were - 2 light bulbs not working downstairs and 2 in the upstairs bedroom. Also, the upstairs toilet was sometimes difficult to flush. However, we had a very enjoyable stay. One thing that would have initially would be some instructions for the hob in an obvious place.

Clean and comfortable and everything provided. The welcome pack was a nice touch. A pleasant area and very peaceful. The information about our stay we received beforehand was accurate. Plenty of hot water. Ample parking space. The use of WiFi was good too. The only issue we had was trying to activate the cooker. We used the grill instead. This in no way spoilt a lovely stay. We would thoroughly recommend the Cottage

The beds were very comfortable and beautifully made with clean linen and we loved being in such a quiet location. It was easy to find and was near to find all the things we wanted to do. “Lovely cottage.”

Clean, comfortable, and really quiet. Not sure it will remain so quiet once the new builds are in full use, with the access road being so close. Instructions for the video machine were in Italian and Dutch. Tv manual was for a different make of TV. Could do with some pint glasses in the kitchen. :)

“We had a bit of an unfortunate start as the place we had originally booked had also been booked by someone else.”

We only found this out the day before so trying to sort out alternative accommodation whilst at work was a bit of a struggle. Sykes did get back to us with another property fairly quickly. However, it became apparent that we were going to be expected to pay the extra money for this property. I thought this was unfair so after 40 minuets on hold managed to get hold of someone and they were very lovely and sorted the whole thing out for us very quickly. However, seemed a bit of an unnecessary faff considering we weren't the ones who had caused the issue. I also think it would have been nice if the booking fee and insurance costs could have been waived considering the inconvenience but I understand it's been a difficult year for hospitality generally so can see why this might not have been offered. Onto the house. It was a really lovely place to stay. Kitchen was well equipped (and even has a dishwasher!). The bedroom was comfortable and a good size. Both bathrooms were really nice and cleanliness across the whole property was spotless. Only problems (very minor) were that the extractor fan in the downstairs ensuite either didn't work or wasn't installed. This meant the bedroom and bathroom had quite a lot of moisture in them after a shower. Also, in the downstairs bedroom the window is overlooked by the carpark which meant the blinds had to be drawn almost all the time to ensure privacy. Like I said very small issues and really enjoyed our stay. Would love to stay again in the future.

“It's our second visit and I mentioned this last time.”

.. In the main bedroom downstairs, it would have been nice to have nets up so we could have the shutters up at night. We had to keep the shutters down as you can see in the bedroom from the above parking area. Not that anything was going on!... and not that anyone was looking in LOL! It just would have felt more private first thing in the morning. However, our second visit (last time we stayed in Cottage 2) and yet again, absolutely idyllic and a great few days away relaxing. As we said last time.....we will be back! Please don't change anything too much. Thank you once again for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. John and Melanie Darby.

“Frustratingly the pool was shut even though restrictions on pools were removed a while ago.”

Levels of Covid are incredibly low and I think some common sense needs to be applied to things rather than a blanket approach - individuals who stay at this cottage/site would show respect for others and always do the right thing I would imagine - that would be the cohort. I don’t know if Covid was the reason actually as there is a huge amount of building work going on and a big area are cordoned off - I would be rather sad if I had young children and they couldn’t go on the play area because of this - this was also roped off.

“The bedroom doors closed a bit to quickly if a child has it’s fingers in the was it would be a trip down A and E.”

Thought it was a little petty that we arrived just ten minutes early and they said “I don’t know if it is ready for you I’ll go and see” she would not even sign us in until 16.00. We have been to Hillfield on quiet a few times and not had this before. Having said all of this we had a lovely time the grounds, pool and accommodation were very clean people friendly

Hillfield provides those little things that matter - hand soap, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, towels and kitchen roll - making a self catering holiday feel as if we are staying in a posh hotel.

I could not fault it in any way. Caretakers were friendly and extremely helpful, giving very good advice on eating out etc. For us, the location was a bit remote - we prefer to stay in walking distance of town, however those who love the peace and quiet would love the location

Situated in a fabulous spot, overlooking the tennis court, 6 Court Cottage is a two-storey property with a lovely first floor balcony, offering picturesque rural views.

The cottage has an impressive living and dining area, with sumptuous seating providing a comfortable space to relax in.

The lounge has a flatscreen TV and DVD with cinema surround sound.

The bespoke handmade pine kitchen is equipped to a very high standard (ceramic hob, fan-assisted oven, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer and microwave.) The cottage has a master bedroom with a King-size bed.

Beautiful en suite bathroom with whirlpool bath.

The second twin bedroom has the benefit of French windows onto the balcony.

Nestled near historic Dartmouth, Hillfield Village facilities include acres of beautiful gardens, all-weather tennis court and a children's play area.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes.
