“We loved westward( if only the windows in the front bedrooms and dining room could be opened!”

It gets VERY hot when the sun shines!!) the views are amazing and we loved the sun room and balcony for watching the spectacular sunsets! Very well equipped and comfortable, just rather rundown, which is sad. We were relieved to see planning permission denied for pulling down the house and replacing it with a modern building! Very well equipped and comfortable, just rather rundown, which is sad. We were relieved to see planning permission denied for pulling down the house and replacing it with a modern building! It would be sad to see Hope cove become like Salcombe, with modern glass ‘boxes’ in place of original houses. It wouldn’t be difficult to turn Westward into a stunning property whilst retaining the character it has now. We hate Sykes as a company! But then everyone we’ve spoken to feels the same. They make it impossible to get through to anyone locally with local knowledge. I would like their CEO to try phoning with a problem to understand how frustrating it is to wait for ages and then be answered by someone in the north who hasn’t got a clue where Hope cove is! Coast and country and Toad hall so much better.

About the location

HOPE COVE

Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.

This is a pet friendly property, however please ensure they are not in carpeted areas. Dogs are charged at £25 per dog, per week.

Please note that the garden is steeply banked in places - very young children should be supervised.

Due to the arrangements of beds, this property is suitable for a maximum of 6 adults only.

Strictly No Smoking
