Hilltop Cottage

Chose property for parking.

Our car more that capable of getting up steep drive. Problem is getting onto drive. Jubilee Terrace very narrow and not a lot of room to manover onto a very narrow uneven drive so had to leave it at bottom of drive. No off road parking and in our opinion should not be advertised as having on site parking. Neighbour parks on corner on drive so every time we want to get on or off have to phone him to move his car forward. Please heed other reviews about parking because it is much worse than you think! Property itself is clean with comfortable beds and plenty off towels. But is a little tired in areas especially the outside space.

Beautiful house with amazing view, great home from home facilities.

Fabulous location, just a 15 walk to the beach and town. Excellent communication from owner, and a lovely surprise welcome gift. The house is up a steep driveway, and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, but this is fully mentioned in the property details. With encouragement from the friendly neighbour we managed to drive up and park our car, but it was a struggle at the top and there it stayed until leaving, as everything you need to see is within walking or local transport links. Would definitely like to visit again,

Situated on top of a hill with great views of the surrounding town and sea, the house is large and clean and well maintained, only downfall I had was access to the property was not good with a narrow road leading upto the property it was a squeeze, also I was unable to get my car up the driveway because it was way to narrow and steep and would of probably damaged my car attempting to go up, and so had to park my car off the property and on the side road which was a deadend and a nightmare to turn around.

..luckily the friendly neighbour was accommodating and allow me to use his parking spot for a few days.

The only thing l would like to mention .

which didn't upset our. Holiday was the parking.we only parked to unpack and pack on the day to go home the rest of the time we parked down the road in a car park.there seemed to be an issue on parking.but we really enjoyed it and hope to come back next year.

Great communication from host, lovely comfortable house, almost everything brand new, great lounge and kitchen and fantastic bathroom.

Comfy beds and lots of room inside house. A new venture so a few things were missing but host delivered the second day. A few things still needed so gave list to host before we left. We only had one issue and that was the parking at the house. Admittedly the host highlights this in the write up but we found we couldn’t park at the house as the neighbours car made it too tight to get into the drive. Parking at the top was not possible as my car is very low and the space at the bottom of drive was not accessible for me. We parked on nearby main road without an issue but that meant a walk uphill to house then very steep drive so if you have mobility issues this is not the house for you. So to sum up, house lovely, very accommodating host but please bear in mind the parking issue and on line warning from host.

We had a lovely stay at Hilltop Cottage.

We had an issue with a bleeping noise but the hosts couldn't be more helpful with it and got it sorted for us straight away. The rooms were clean and comfortable with all the facilities you need for a short stay. The only thing I will say though is, it does state that the driveway is steep and this should be taken into account as it's not suitable for those with mobility issues, however; it was so that steep we couldn't get our car up it as the road up to the driveway is very narrow and hardly any turning space to take a run up to it. A bit disappointing in that respect as having a space to park is something we prioritise with a booking. We did find though, it was much easier to park on the road behind the house and to use the back alley way to access the house. Defo would avoid the driveway unless you have a 4 wheel/rear wheel drive as we almost burned out the clutch trying to get it up

Lovely stay at this house with family.

Ideal for our needs as it was a 10 minute walk to the town and 5 minute drive to lots of places like the leisure centre, zoo, cinema and the beach. Like the description says, the drive is steep for some cars to get up, we didn't manage with either of our two, but that doesn't mean you won't and there is plenty of space at the top. Neighbour is nice if you have to ask him to move his car off his part of the land at the bottom of the drive. There were a couple of teething issues, but the owner dealt with these immediately, very communicative and updates throughout. Large kitchen which was great with a nice utility room and a dining area separate to the sitting room. Nice bathroom with good shower. Nice surprise of the welcome hamper and bottle of fizz.
