    “As always the apartment was immaculate, we always enjoy staying at number 17 it has a lovely 'home from home' feeling and is equipped to a high standard, along with super comfy beds with cosy linen.”

    The location is great, very quiet area just above North Sands and a 20/30 minute stroll along the estuary road into Salcombe, beware there are a few steep hills but the views across the estuary are amazing. I am sure we will be returning again soon.

The property

Set within a secluded and private setting in sub-tropical gardens, 17 St Elmo Court is well-presented, 4 Star Gold VisitEngland, first floor apartment with superb views over the valley and the mouth of Salcombe Estuary.

Ideal for a family break, the light, open plan living space includes a sitting area furnished with a large sofa and arm chairs, plus a dining table with seating for six guests.

French doors from the living room lead out to a sheltered, furnished balcony, ideal for taking in the countryside views and relaxing after a day on the beach.

The well-equipped kitchen has a range of units, plus a breakfast table with two stools.

There are three bedrooms in total; the master has a super King-size bed and en suite bathroom with a P-shaped bath and shower over.

Offering flexibility for a family or couples, the second bedroom features twin beds which can be linked to create a super-King on request.

The third bedroom has full-sized twin single beds.

A shower room, adjacent to the second bedroom, has a walk-in shower and airing cupboard. Outside, St. Elmo residents enjoy use of a shared outdoor heated swimming pool (open from May to late September).

There is parking for one car, however additional spaces may be available out of season. Set in an enviable location for enjoying Salcombe’s attractions, the town’s boutique shops, restaurants and waterfront, plus the sandy beach at North Sands are within walking distance.

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.

St. Elmo residents enjoy exclusive use of a superb, private outdoor heated swimming pool which is available from early May to late September each year. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the swimming pool may not be open during your stay.
