“Disappointed with general maintainence, in parts of the property.”

Genuinely could not park in designated areas due to severe slopes in two directions. My vehicle is standard saloon car, I attempted to drive forward/ reverse into the designated parking area and failed due to the underside of the car catching on the tarmac. This was tried by approaching at different angles, I believe this is due to the slopes being dual directional. Should be advertised as not suitable for vehicles with low ground clearance.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are surprised to read that you had trouble parking as we have had many guests staying with 2 cars and have not had this comment in the past, however we are very sorry you had difficulty. We hope this did not impact on your holiday and you enjoyed all that Salcombe has to offer. Property Owner

This property has six stone steps which lead up to the main entrance, and into a hallway with parquet flooring.

Most of the accommodation is at this level with a short set of stairs down to the utility room and third bedroom.

An attractively decorated and very comfortably furnished sitting room has two large leather sofas, armchair with footstool, coffee table, feature wood-burning stove and slate hearth, TV with Freesat, and DVD player and surround sound system.

Double doors open into the light, sunny and particularly spacious conservatory with tiled flooring has a large dining table seating up to eight guests, bean bags and ‘Tripp Trapp’ high chair.

A well-presented and equipped kitchen has a range of cream wall and floor units, wooden worktops, Neff electric oven and four-ring gas hob, Bosch dishwasher and microwave, fridge, wine cooler, wooden topped breakfast bar with four stools, and stone tiled flooring.

There are three bedrooms in total.

The en suite master bedroom has a comfortable super-King-size bed, bedside drawers, mirrored wardrobe and wall-mounted TV.

The adjacent second bedroom also has a super-King size double bed (this can be split on request to create two singles), bedside tables, mirrored wardrobe and wall-mounted TV.

On the lower floor - accessed via the utility room - is a smaller bedroom with wooden framed bunk beds (3’ single over a 4’6” double), mirrored wardrobe and TV.

In addition to the en suite shower above, there is family bathroom with bath, shower (over), wash-hand basin, w.c and two heated towel rails.

On the lower level with fitted units, wooden worktop, Belfast sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.

The famous harbour and estuary, popular with sailors and other watersports enthusiasts, is very close by, whilst the beautiful beaches of East Portlemouth and Millbay can be accessed via a small passenger ferry that runs from the town all year round.

About the location

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
