    “Windy Heath provides the home from home experience my family enjoys for our holiday.”


    The re fitted kitchen is a very positive addition to the property. The setting of the house and views remains special to my family. However, we are a family who needs our sleep. We found the mattresses on the 3 sea facing bedrooms very difficult, they offered no back support at all, and resulted in family sleeping on the sofa. I appreciate beds can be a personal choice, but feel with the price of the holiday, a quality mattress should be provided. The only bed with this level of quality is the garden facing room. We would like to return for a holiday at Windy Heath, but the beds would be a problem for us. With the upgrade of mattresses I would grade the property 4 Star. If in the future I am able to book a holiday at Windy Heath directly with Coast and Country through the Salcombe office that would be OK. I would never use Sykes Cottages Company again for any holiday booking.

Windy Heath enjoys an elevated position within the picturesque South Devon Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty on the outskirts of the popular resort town of Salcombe.

This outstanding residence is perfectly situated for a group of friends and families seeking a base in which to enjoy a traditional holiday to the stunning Salcombe coast.

Relax into your evening within the sitting room where the patio doors filtering in natural light into the space offers a sense of tranquility as you tune into the TV or plan the next day's itinerary.

Beyond here is the superbly appointed kitchen, complete with two electric ovens, a halogen hob and a dishwasher for convenience.

More casual dining can be enjoyed at the kitchen table, whereas a special occasion can be celebrated within the separate dining room with it's spectacular views.

When sleep calls, retreat upstairs to find four well-presented bedrooms, designed to offer a flexible sleeping arrangements to suit the needs of your group.

Here, you will find a super-king-size with an en-suite shower room, a king-size and two twin bedrooms.

Continuing to impress is the spacious garden, where your canine companion is welcome to roam and you and your family can lounge around the heated swimming pool.

If you don't feel like cooking one evening, the South Sands Hotel is a short walk away offering cocktails and locally sourced menu.

Catch the South Sands ferry to Salcombe where a whole host of shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants await you.

The perfect opportunity to sample local favourites and enjoy the vibe of Salcombe town.

To keep you busy whilst here, head to the estuary where a number of watersports are available, or simply stroll along the beautiful coastline to discover sandy beaches and hidden coves.

Take in some local history at Overbecks the National Trust property within walking distance to explore the subtropical gardens and take afternoon tea.

Windy Heath is a wonderful base for a family holiday by the sea.

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.

The swimming Pool is open from the last May Bank holiday weekend to end September.
The pool is 7m x 2m and depths are
0.9 shallow and 2m deep end.

The pool area will be closed between 8am and 10am every Thursday morning for maintenance. An extra call to check chemicals only will be made on Mondays (time subject to change).

The BBQ must be left clean on departure. If this is not possible we will organise this for you and the charge of £100 will be deducted from the Good Housekeeping Bond
