    “Whilst we apppreciated the lengths that Sykes went to in order to resolve the properties issues, the basic fact is that the property should have been at the standard required on arrival.”

    This property should not have a 5 * rating. Having looked through the guest book and on line it is clear that the same problems have been recorded time and again. We did not expect to spend the first few days of our holiday making and receiving phone calls about the state of the property. ...

    This property should not have a 5 * rating. Having looked through the guest book and on line it is clear that the same problems have been recorded time and again. We did not expect to spend the first few days of our holiday making and receiving phone calls about the state of the property. Firstly the property had not been properly cleaned. The 3 televisions did not work properly. The overriding smell which we encountered of rotting drains. Filthy windows. Dirty and cob webbed exterior. This meant we had the TV repair man visit twice, cleaner once, the local handy man once and then to finish off the plumber who had to replace the cyphons in both bathroom sinks and re fit the main bedrooms toilet which had apparenlty not been fitted correctly. For a time this meant that the property smelt clean, however by the end of our 7 nights the main bedrooms bathroom downstairs had started to smell again. I can only imagine this is due to poor ventilation and no heat in the bathroom to dry towels. The bathroom either needs a window or an electric towel rail. Thank you for the £50 refunded, however given the disturbance for much of the 7 days this is rather derisory. We will book with Sykes again if the right property comes up as you did your best to resolve the issues, but we will certainly never stay in this property again.

The spacious living room has an L-shaped sofa, coffee table, Smart TV and a playstation!

The master suite, on the ground floor, boasts a super-King size bed, ample clothes storage, Smart TV and a luxurious en suite bathroom with bath and separate rainhead shower cubicle.

The second bedroom has two single beds, wardrobe, drawers, Smart TV and an en suite shower room, with a large walk in shower.

A child friendly property, a travel cot and highchair are provided.

Duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels are also provided.

Guests can enjoy free wireless broadband internet and benefit from one secure off-road garage parking space.

Enjoying quick access to the South West Coast Path, and within close proximity to Dartmouth, Salcombe and their surrounding beaches, it’s the perfect bolthole for a luxurious coastal retreat.

Torcross is at the southern end of Slapton Sands, in the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This area of coastline is a historic site where the Normandy landings were practiced, and is within easy reach of the towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe. Slapton Sands is a 1.2 mile-long stretch of shingle beach, which is dog-friendly all year round. This area is fantastic for nature lovers, with Slapton Ley Nature Reserve adjacent to the beach.
