A delightful ground floor flat on a tree-lined road in a quiet suburb with parking on the drive next to the front door.

Couldn't ask for more and then we go inside to find everything airy and modern, lovely kitchen and bathroom plus plenty of space to stretch out in the lounge and bedroom. Robin, the host keeps everything spotless and is a helpful but unobtrusive asset. Great base for trips out to Brixham, Dartmouth, Shaldon, Babbacombe and more. Cannot recommend more highly. Lovely ground floor accommodation with parking.

Ideal for visiting Torquay and the surrounding area

We found the flat to be very tidy but with a few issues as the week progressed.

The settee was quite low to sit on and you sank in it making it difficult to get up. The table and chairs were ok but we found the table to be slightly too high compared with the chairs. The bath towels were not what we would class as bath towel size, only just big enough to wrap around oneself and we are not large people. The pull cords on the blinds in the lounge area are too high to reach and need extending, had to stand on a chair to reach and open them. Found the bed rather uncomfortable and a few spring noises as you got out. One of the dishes in the oven had remnants of food on it which was growing mould on . Car parking was very awkward as you could only get in at an angle between an area of wall which has been cut out to make an extra entrance and had to drive over edging stones as not a proper lowered kerb access, also had to back in and park as tight as possible to a hedge to allow for the vehicle for the other flat to get out. The microwave needs to be set up properly as we found it difficult to know what wattage is was. Shower was great though but again towels to small. Overall a reasonable stay but not in a good accessible area for our holiday. The front door key was sticking when you tried to remove it after locking the door, needs attention.

I booked the stay for my parents who are in their 70's my mum is disabled, they enjoyed their stay, the place was very clean, and well presented, good that you can park your car at the door, Robin the owner was very helpful checking in with them on their stay, the only two issues my parents noted was the blind cords were so high it required standing on a chair to lower them, which I really don't want them to do, which can be corrected.

The other which isn't everyones issue, only those Tall, or Older, the sofa as lovely as it was, was low, not that easy to get up from if your tall or older, may be high back chair may help. Everything else was perfect hence they felt full stars and rating, they said, they enjoyed torquay, and used this location to travel out to places. They wish to thank Robin and his kindness.

My wife and I thought the accommodation to be excellent.

Very clean, very well equipped and a pleasure to stay in. If you are a couple that like this area of Torbay then this flat comes very highly recommended.

This was a lovely and comfortable place to stay at, it had all the facilities required for a short or long stay.

It's just a 20 minute or so walk to the beach. It's also a great place to have as a base to tour around the area without having to travel for ours the country side and coastal sites as always are amazing. Highly recommend this place for a break. No need to worry about parking as there's a space all your's for the period. I have to mention the mirror in the shower room love to on off switch.

More than satisfied with the property which was comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed and more.

The parking was a bonus. Robin, the owner, contacted us on day 2 and on the way home to check about any issues. He was also helpful with advice about places to visit and eat. Strongly recommend this property.

This is an immaculate flat with lovely, modern appliances and equipment and contains everything you need.

It would benefit from brighter lighting as it lacks natural light and can seem gloomy. It has a very comfortable, huge bed and a good shower. Robin the owner was friendly and attentive and responded immediately when I had a small problem with air fresheners.

This was our third visit ,a very friendly owner ,the property very clean and comfortable a lovely place to stay.

A fantastic property, met our expectations fully, lovely modern apartment with excellent facilities. We would definitely recommend this Sykes registered property.

Ideal for two and great location; about 30 minute walk to Torquay marina one way and Babbacombe the other.

Had everything we needed and Robin (the owner) was great too; checked up on us early on and was quick to resolve a glitch with the water heater.

Very modern kitchen facilities. All situated in a very quiet area of Torquay.

We had a very enjoyable week in the flat - the standard of facilities and cleanliness were first class.

Having private parking outside the front door was invaluable. The peace and quiet of the neighbourhood ensured a relaxing stay. We appreciated the welcome pack on our arrival, and the comprehensive folder of attractions and places to eat. The owner could not have been more attentive; he contacted us the day after we arrived and on our return to make sure we had arrived safely and had enjoyed our stay. We had inadvertently left behind some items of clothing and we appreciated his contacting us about them and going to the trouble of posting the items safely back to us. We would recommend this property as a base for exploring the Torquay area.

We assumed like most cottages etc we should leave bedding and towels ready for change and cleaning but no mention.

Also we would have liked to praise the Flat and comment in the visitors book but we couldn't find one. The only thing we missed was a chance to sit outside in the sunshine for a drink etc. but that should be obvious from the description as we acknowledged.

Robin welcomed us both, checking everything was ok.

He gave us plenty of recommendations of places to visit and eat. Very accommodating and checked mid week all was ok!. The flat was spotlessly clean and of a high standard through out. We would definitely stay again if visiting south Devon again.

Robin greeted us when we arrived & was very welcoming. The flat was clean & comfortable, had everything we needed . Robin rang us after a few days to make sure everything was ok with the accommodation & to see if there was anything we needed. Did everything we had planned on doing in the week we were there. The only downside was the weather which is out of anyone’s control . But we still managed to get to Oddicombe beach on 2 days. Would recommend this a accommodation & hope to return sometime.

Well appointed, clean flat furnished for a couple and with benefit of off-road parking.

Owner left some welcome treats and called to check all ok. It's located in tree lined road and although a good walk into Torquay it was never onerous. We averaged over 12,000 steps a day and visited some local attractions. Coleton Fishacre NT is a wonderful place to visit as was Dartington Trust gardens. Also try Plant World nursery/gardens.

We spent a week house hunting in the area and this was such a calm and comfortable base to come back to.

It was immaculately presented and very well fitted out by an owner who clearly cares about his guests. There was a very generous and usable welcome back and everywhere was spotless.

Ten minute walk into Torquay although a walk uphill on the return journey! Local restaurants and take always in St Marychurch are very good. Courtesy phone call from the owner at the beginning and end of our stay to ensure we were happy with everything which was appreciated.

It was a pleasure to arrive at Byfield - a beautifully furnished, immaculate, well appointed and equipped one bedroom flat.

It was perfect for the two of us and we had a very comfortable stay. The welcome pack was much appreciated as was phone contact from the owner Robin at the start and end of our stay. Parking was a bonus and it was an easy walk for the local bus into Torquay centre for access to further public transport which runs along the coast - ideal for us walking the SW coast path section from Kingswear to Starcross.

Our 7 night stay was very comfortable and relaxing.

Lovely spacious apartment with high ceilings and great quality fixtures and fittings. Firm and comfortable superking bed. Good shower and fab illuminating bathroom mirror. Everything is included, bedding, towels and the apartment is extremely well equipped, thanks to an incredibly thoughtful host! Private parking on the apartments driveway. St Marychurch is a lovely quiet area and great base. I particularly enjoyed walks along Babbacombe bay which is very close by. Great value, private, secure and comfortable accommodation.

We enjoyed our stay at Flat 1 BYFIELD, a spacious ground floor apartment in a quiet area of Torquay.

It is ideal for a couple. It has a comfortable lounge/dining area and very well/equipped kitchen. As with all the property the bedroom and en-suite bathroom are also immaculately presented. We will recommend to our friends.

The flat is excellently situated between Torquay and Babbacombe allowing us to walk everywhere with good shopping facilities nearby. The owner Robin could not have been more helpful and we had a lovely stay.

We have been looking forward to our holiday at 1 Byfield Road, Torquay since we booked a few months ago and we wasn’t disappointed.

A lot of thought had gone into getting it right for the customer, a lovely bathroom, kitchen and living room all done to a very high and the welcome pack was a nice surprise. we got a call from Robin on the first day and he was very informative about the area and if we had any problems about anything to give him a call, he called us on the last day to see if we had a nice time, he also asked if we had any suggestions on little things to improve the flat which we thought was very good

The flat is situated in a very quiet area with easy access to the Queens Quay area and within easy reach of many attractions.

The reason for the not so smiley face in the comfort review is because we found the settee not easy to get out of (being octogenarian's) and being leather, we constantly slipped forward on it. The owner rang us twice to ensure we had everything we needed.

We have just returned from a week's stay feeling very relaxed & refreshed.

The apartment was in a good location for exploring the area but close enough to walk into town for restaurants etc. It was spacious, well equipped and very cosy (we had very wet, windy weather during our stay so this was well tested!) Courtesy calls from Robin were a lovely touch and the tips on places to visit very welcome. Would recommend as a base for exploring the area.

Our home for the week in an excellent flat gave us a nice break The flat was clean spacious, well equipped and very comfortable good parking space and quiet area.

Everything was of high quality and in perfect working order. Highlights of the week visiting Colton Fishacre ,Buckland Abbey and more locally Babbacombe and Torquay harbour and promenade we are good walkers and all was available on foot . We had a very enjoyable week helped by good Devon weather Once again Thanks very much

We had a wonderful few days here, very modern and couldn't have wished for more.

The owners left us a lovely welcome pack so that was an added extra which certainly makes a difference. Location was just right for visiting family and National Trust houses. Would highly recommend, we will be back.

The flat has been fitted out to a very high standard with quality furnishings and fittings throughout.

There is plenty of space for chilling and the kitchen whilst small is perfectly adequate. The bed is comfortable and the shower is powerful and has plenty of hot water. Parking is fine in front of the flat which is in a quiet area of Torquay. I can’t really fault the flat and enjoyed my week there very much. Thank you.
