“Great house, amazing location.”

Stunning views. However, house doesn’t feel quite finished. Just a few final touches that are missing would complete this as a spectacular property. For example, the bins were overflowing on arrival (possibly just unfortunate timing), there is no door handle on the front door, no hand soap in some of the bathrooms, no additional bin liners or kitchen roll supplied, the hot tub (which we paid extra for) was cold on the first day with the temperature set too low and then it was extremely ...

Stunning views. However, house doesn’t feel quite finished. Just a few final touches that are missing would complete this as a spectacular property. For example, the bins were overflowing on arrival (possibly just unfortunate timing), there is no door handle on the front door, no hand soap in some of the bathrooms, no additional bin liners or kitchen roll supplied, the hot tub (which we paid extra for) was cold on the first day with the temperature set too low and then it was extremely chlorinated to the point of irritation. Plus there’s obviously still some renovation work that needs finishing off; doors need painting, ceilings need finishing, skirting needs fixing on in some places… nothing major, and we had a fantastic time. Just a little more attention to the small details would make it perfect.

“Unfortunately our property was obviously in the midst of being renovated but we were unaware of this when booking.”

The cleanliness was not good at all the decoration was not good but the bathrooms and kitchen were lovely. We should have been made aware it was under renovation. It needed a really good clean. The front door didn’t double lock so we also felt vulnerable. The bins and recycling were full on arrival. The stay could have been a lot better.

“Fabulous house but clearly still a work in progress.”

Loved the layout and was perfect for a large family, however there were a few issues. We had a flood in one of the toilets, water seepage in the shower in bedroom downstairs off kitchen. The kitchen floor was a bit sticky on arrival. The double beds were not very comfortable Surprised to find a hidden camera facing the hot tub. Would have liked a mop or something to wash kitchen floor during our stay. Family Shower room downstairs really needs a blind on the window as a bit overlooked from surrounding properties. The patio door leading off the lounge only had half a curtain so difficult to watch TV late afternoon. Overall loved the house just needs a bit of tweeting. Location was perfect. Thank you for acting so quickly when I did call you.

It sounds like the camera, which is in fact for garage security, will need removing although the hot tub is not in its sights. “Beautiful house and perfect location with stunning views.”

Plenty of living space for a large family and the parking space is sufficient for a 9 seater minibus or 2 small cars. The house was very clean and well maintained as we experienced a visit from a cleaner, gardener and hot tub maintained. Owner communicated well and was very accommodating when we phoned with a query. Would highly recommend and you will not be disappointed.

“This property is very welcoming and boasts great views of Torquay harbour.”

There is great natural light into the property also. We were impressed with the excellent facilities including the well equipped lounge, dining room and fully equipped kitchen all with the views of Torquay harbour. The two en-suite double rooms had a luxury feel to them. The games room was a great addition as were the smart TVs. The sun deck and hot tub were lovely, and the outside spaces were great for a small explore. We fitted two vehicles on the driveway (just) which was handy. It’s a short but steep walk down into the harbour. A taxi back up the hill was an option for some. Communication from Sykes and owners was very good before and during our stay. A few things need work including the welcome information/folder, the double bedroom, twin room, bathroom and toilet in the corridor and a few little things like the curtain rails and bannisters which need a bit of TLC. This gives the impression of a work in progress feel to the property, rather than fully finished. We were a party of six adults and one child staying for four nights during Easter holidays 2025.
