Rib riding with Sea 'n' Shore SalcombeBringing the whole gang down to South Devon? Whether you’re a big multigenerational family group, a few families or couples holidaying together or just a collection of friends, you’ll find plenty of ways to entertain yourselves.

Here are five of our favourite group activities in South Devon.

Dynamic adventures in Dartington

From Go Ape-style ziplines and high ropes to raft building and sea kayaking, Dynamic Adventures offers an extensive range of supervised activities suitable for adults and kids. These are offered both onsite at their base in Dartington and offsite around the area. Pridhamsleigh Cave, for example, is just 10 minutes away from Dartington, and is where you’ll go to explore this underground limestone expanse under the guidance of their instructors.

Note: Dynamic Adventures is only open for public bookings during the school holidays, although groups of four or more may be able to book activities at other weekends (subject to availability).

Wine and cheese tasting at Sharpham

From perhaps the most adventurous activity on our list to the most sedate, it doesn’t get more civilised than a cheese and wine tour at Sharpham Vineyard and Cheese Dairy. Resting on the south-facing slopes of the Dart Valley in Ashprington near Totnes, the Sharpham Estate would be worth a visit for the scenery alone. But for connoisseurs it represents paradise on earth, with so many award-winning wines and cheeses on the menu.

Choose a simple self-guided ‘trek & taste’ option or opt for the whole ‘Sharpham Experience’ – it’s all up to you.

Canoe Adventures on the Dart

How about getting your group on the water for a paddle? Hire a 9 or 12-seater canoe from Canoe Adventures, based at Stoke Gabriel and Tuckenhay on the River Dart, and then embark on an aquatic adventure all together. You can also hire a barbecue kit if you’d like to take a midway break.

If you can’t assemble a large enough group to hire your own canoe outright, it’s also possible to hire individual seats (subject to availability).

Rib riding or coasteering with Sea N Shore off Salcombe

No shortage of boat trips are available to you in South Devon, but it’s hard to beat a speedy rib ride off the South Devon coast, as provided by Sea ‘N’ Shore. They provide all the kit, including all-weather clothing and safety equipment, and promise a ‘007-style’ high-speed rib ride around the coast from Salcombe to Hallsands and back. For a truly exhilarating group activity, have a go at coasteering!

There are slower options too if you’d like a gentler ride. Find out more at http://www.sea-n-shore.com/en_GB/ribrides.
