Offering exquisite coastal views over Torbay, Churston Golf Club is a much-loved golf course in South Devon. Established in the late 1800s, this stunning golf course started out as a rough 9 hole course on the inland side of the Great Western Railway line. Six years after its opening, Churston doubled in size to become a full 18 hole golf course.
However, it was far from what you see today. The course was short and of no conspicuous merit. After the first world war, the infamous H. S. Colt was invited to redesign the course, and he did, leaving only the 1st and 18th hole exactly as they were.
The course has well-groomed fairways and greens and offers a challenge for golfers of all levels. The warm climate means the surface of the greens are in tip-top condition 12 months of the year allowing you to play all year round.
