“A delightful and immaculate property, the cleanest I've stayed in, and a pleasure to spend a week there.”

The only very minor points are the lack of a welcome basket of local produce/pint of milk , common in similar properties run by the same company, and previously mentioned by other holidaymakers. In fact in this place there IS a basket, but it's tantalisingly empty - despite the sticker on a cupboard reminding them to supply biscuits! In fact in this place there IS a basket, but it's tantalisingly empty - despite the sticker on a cupboard reminding them to supply biscuits! Also it was good to have all of the appliances' manuals but we couldn't find the one for the washing machine anywhere - but worked it out for ourselves. Plus, the wardrobe in the main front bedroom had a couple of very loose doorknobs on it - both of which fell off. Finally, the rubbish collection system here has some very specific instructions involving a private company collecting the rubbish early on the day of check-out , which was good to know, so we placed our black bin bags in the numbered wheelie bin which had been left just at the top of the drive but didn't see anyone collect anything.

The property

Celadon is a charming home with a stylish interior and is perfect for gathering with friends and families and is situated on the outskirts of the historic Harbour town of Dartmouth.

As you enter the home, you'll find the kitchen and dining room, which is well-equipped and has everything you could possibly need for a self-catered stay.

Enjoy home-cooked meals together at the dining table while you share tales of the day's activities with your loved ones or retire to the sitting area to unwind in front of a big flat-screen TV.

After a day at the beach, take a shower or a bubble bath in the family bathroom before retiring to one of the three exquisite bedrooms, each with a sumptuous king-sized bed; two of them have zip/link beds for adaptable sleeping arrangements.

Dartmouth, a charming town, itself has a wealth of restaurants, bars, and locally produced foods.

Be sure to experience the delicacies of the regional cuisine.

Take a day trip to Dartmouth Castle or Bayard's Cove Fort if you enjoy visiting historic homes and gardens.

Built in the Tudor era, these forts served as the last line of defence against invading ships and today lie picturesquely at the mouth of Dartmouth Harbour.

With walking routes that extend across the shoreline, you may enjoy the breathtaking sea views with a picnic not far from the alluring attractions of Blackpool Sands and Compass Valley.

For those looking for excitement, continue to Totnes, where you can find the Woodlands Family Theme Park.

Likewise, the nearby town of Paignton is home to the Fairy Cove and Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, as well as offering an outstanding pier.

The best way to experience Devon's coast is to stay in Celadon.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £300.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
