    “Entering the property, we were stunned by the view.”

    It is truly world class. Sadly, things weren’t so positive from that point onwards. The overall cleanliness wasn’t great. Balls of fluff in the corners, dried remains in the coffee pots, a sugar container with different varieties of sugar, some in packets, some not, and just a lot of general “needing a clean-out” as lots of random bits had been left in cupboards. The wardrobe door in bedroom 1 was broken, and on the floor, and the wardrobe was too full of Hoovers, boxes and bits ...

The wardrobe door in bedroom 1 was broken, and on the floor, and the wardrobe was too full of Hoovers, boxes and bits to be of use. The furniture was a little tired but not massively uncomfortable, and many items were a bit “sticky” and needed a wash before we could use them. Having said that, the location was excellent and as long as you treat this as a base for a lovely holiday in a lovely area, rather than as somewhere to live, you will not be disappointed.

The apartment is well-appointed throughout and is excellent for a couple or family with younger children, and boasts lovely views over the water to Kingswear and the river mouth beyond.

There's no need to travel far for your amenities and attractions, because the apartment is just a short walk from Dartmouth's selection of boutiques, restaurants, art galleries, and lovely coastline.

River View is also the ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of the South Hams, being only a short drive from the excellent Dartmouth Hotel Golf and Spa, which boasts two fantastic golf courses, as well as the stunning pristine beaches and coastal paths of Start Bay, such as the Blue Flag award-winning Blackpool Sands.

Within close driving distance, the thriving towns of Totnes and Paignton offer much more to see and do, from Totnes Castle to Paignton Zoo Environmental Park!

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town.
