“Positives - The location was excellent just.”

a 2 min walk downhill to everything in Salcombe. The bedrooms were all well equipped and the bathrooms were spacious and modern. Lovely estuary views from the main bedroom and the living areas. Allocated parking space. Comfortable beds and good quality bedding and pillows. Negatives - if more than 4 people stayed there wouldn't be enough furniture for everyone to sit in the living room. a 2 min walk downhill to everything in Salcombe. (one uncomfortable and worn 3 seater sofa and a very uncomfortable armchair). Parking space very tight, the day we left there were 4 other cars in the car park (all massive 4x4's) I'm just glad I reversed into my space on arrival or I would've had a nightmare getting out (as there are only 4 apartments and only 4 spaces it's obvious someone brought 2 cars making it difficult for everyone else). The dining chair cushions were black and badly stained to the point we didn't really want to use them. No welcome pack on arrival not even a pint of milk or a starter pack of pods for the Nespresso machine (this is fairly standard practise in holiday accommodation these days!). Having to collect and return the key from the office which is a walk away is inconvenient especially as there is a key box at the property which could have been utilised. We had a lovely stay but these small concerns could easily be rectified

About the location

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
