“Fire extinguisher out of date.”

Carpet moth active and seen flying. Outside shed not accessible- padlock jammed. Would be great if there were loungers in the shed to use by the pool. Only 3 wooden chairs for balcony table. Could do with more mugs. Had a good midstay clean. Love that we can take our dog here and wake up for an early morning walk on the beautiful beach before the crowds arrive.

“We have being coming to this apartment for a number of years and the standard has always been good.”

“This is our 2nd visit and already booked for next year, we love it here as we can see the rock from bedroom and balcony and living room, the rock is there we scattered our 24 year old sons ashes 2 years ago, it's so emotional but comforting, we will stay every year if possible.”

“This is our second year here and it’s a great apartment.”

I mentioned it last year but the master bedroom could fit a super king size bed rather than a king, most of the apartments we rent have super king size beds so the king size has had its day now. The fire doors self closers drove us mad as it must do the owners and easy to rectify, Just take them off. Thank you for replacing the faulty dryer so quickly which was great. Hope you don’t mind the feedback but I’m in the property business so feedback is useful. Thank you to Sue the owner who messaged me too so quickly.

“Location is unrivalled.”

Generally comfortable and lots of glasses and mugs etc. Sink in master ensuite is loose and dangerous. Could easily fall off if leaned on. Shelf in fridge door was broken-won’t be useable for much longer. We found one of the wooden chairs on the balcony was broken on arrival. Carpet has multiple holes from moth damage. Door to patio is difficult to close. It’s a shame it’s no longer possible to contact coast and county locally- just a central call centre with people who don’t know the property or area.

“We have stayed many times over the years at the Thurlestone Rock apartments.”

We have stayed in no 4 a few times and noticed a few things, the sink in the en-suite is very loose, if someone were to lean on it I think it would come away. The oven needs a good clean, the inside of the doors were very dirty. We had to buy toilet paper as there was not enough for the two of us. Having said that we will return.

Our only comment/ suggestion would be to replace the old king size bed in the master bedroom to a super king size bed as the mattress and bed look dated and a super king size is far more comfortable. Thank you.

We did have to defrost the freezer,which l see to remember we did last year. Overall excellent and we have booked for next year,but disappointed l was unable to use my £40 voucher,if this could be applied to my booking for next year l would be very grateful.

Such a gorgeous location, wonderful sea views, right on the beach and a light and roomy apartment. The balcony is the clincher - just open the door from the living room and soak up the ozone and the sound and view of the sea. A lovely relaxing place to say.

“Hello This was our 7th or 8th stay at 4 Thurlestone Rock.”

We felt this time the flat is a little tired and could do with a refresh. During our stay the dishwasher was blocked so not in use the previous renters left us a note to say that but C&C did not pick this up. The bed in the 3rd bedroom was very un comfortable for an adult , a very thin mattress . We have booked in May 23 and hope things will be rectified by then.

“The flat is beginning to look tired.”

Balcony doors and windows in the flat need desperately replacing. Also on the balcony needed cleaning and balcony furniture cushions needed safe disposal. Extract in the family bathroom did not work and towel rail in en-suite did not work.. Having said we had a lovely holiday with great sunsets

“Couldn't ask for more , apartment right on the sea so close you could probably fish from the balcony when the tides in !”

Apartment clean and fresh , very spacious and had everything you needed , my son loved the pool and when the tide is out the sea becomes a warm crystal clear place to paddle or swim and can be used by all ages , if you can I recommend the coast walk to nearby hope cove for a delicious ice cream , negatives..not many , met a couple of rude people from Apartment above , but you can't choose the people you meet , and the roads are really narrow which is a shame and off putting , but both of theses negatives have nothing to do with this beautiful apartment

The views are incredible! Amazing to watch a heron fishing in the rock pools from the balcony. We had a wonderful week and have some lovely memories created in an idyllic location. We've been to Flat 4 before and we'd definitely book again. The perfect place to visit and come away feeling relaxed and recharged.

“I have already submitted a complaint as there are a list of issues with this property, and it is not as advertised.”

General repairs are needed, for example windows don’t open, toilet lids missing, broken handles on pans, the front door has to be locked by key to keep closed, the broadband does NOT work!! I could go on but would hope the company would have the courtesy to at least reply to my complaint

“This was the last year that we be visiting no 4 we have bee going for seven years, but I have Ms and I can no longer do the stairs!”

It’s always been brilliant but it’s now needs a bit of tender loving care ! There was only WiFi for two days we did ring and it was put right then it would go again got fed up with ringing! The windows need some love some don’t open! The bedroom wall lights were broken but working! Dishwasher work when it wanted too ! In general it’s time to spend money on it ! But thank you for all the lovely holidays we have had over the years .

“There were a couple of points which gave the impression that the apartment was not as well maintained as it could be.”

The sink was lose in the bathroom and there is mould and flaking plaster in the master bedroom. Location was excellent which made up for the tired and dated appearance of the accommodation. When travelling with four children the supply of bath towels would be appreciated due to lack of luggage room in vehicle

“This is a lovely apartment with stunning views of the sea.”

You wake up in the morning and all you can see is the sea - you could be on a cruise ship! The location is perfect, being so close to the beach. The beds are comfortable and the sitting/dining room has been refurbished and is a lot nicer than the photos online. Unfortunately though we will not be able to stay at this apartment again as the wifi is almost non-existent. In this day and age wifi is a necessity and a basic provision. I can only assume it is on a basic package as other guests/residents there told us they didn't have a problem with it. Also the TV signal is terrible, at one stage we could only get BBC1 & BBC2. Having stayed at other Coast and Country Cottages we have never had this issue. Such a sham to spoil a great place!

“This was an excellent property : spacious, spotlessly clean, well appointed with beautiful views.”

The only negative point was the fact that the pump on the heating system for the swimming pool broke down the week before we arrived. It had still not been repaired until the end of our stay there, so the water was absolutely freezing, despite the hot sunny weather ! In fact, we didn't use the pool as it was so cold. The use of a heated pool was one of the reasons we chose this property.

Situated on the edge of Thurlestone Sands, ‘Thurlestone Rock’ is a development of spacious marine apartments, all of which enjoy sweeping views towards Bigbury Bay.

Thurlestone Rock and Burgh Island provide a stunning coastal vista, whilst the adjacent coastal path offers wonderful walks.

It is the perfect spot for those in search of a luxurious coastal break. 4 Thurlestone Rock is a spacious and comfortable, first floor apartment boasting spectacular ocean views from the living room and master bedroom.

The kitchen is well equipped (electric double oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer) with a breakfast table seating six.

The utility room is separate, and houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink.

The combined dining and living room has patio doors leading onto a private balcony enjoying sweeping sea views.

Additionally, there are two three-seater sofas, an easy chair, large TV/DVD unit, and a six seater dining table.

The spacious master bedroom has a King-size bed, flat screen TV and en suite bathroom with combined bath/power shower.

The two further bedrooms are both twin rooms, with rolling country views.

The second bathroom has a bath, shower cubicle, bidet and heated towel rail.

One small, well behaved dog is permitted.

Guests benefit from shared use of the communal patio area, barbeque facility, and outdoor heated swimming pool.

There is one allocated visitor parking space.

The picturesque village of Thurlestone is popular with both beach-goers and watersports enthusiasts, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Thurlestone and South Milton Sands within walking distance. Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.

Thurlestone Rock residents enjoy exclusive use of the private outdoor heated swimming pool which is available from late May to late September each year (subject to change).

Barbeques not permitted on private balconies/patios.
