    “The cottage itself was lovely.”

As described - well-equipped kitchen, great bathroom. Comfortable bed. Well-located for access to Dartmouth. I also found the property hard to find when I arrived - google maps thinks it knows where the cottage is but is wrong. There are new owners who have (helpfully) given additional directions, used 'what 3 words' etc. but unfortunately none of this got to me. And the contact telephone number I was provided with was out of date - all of which led to a rather frustrating start.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay. I’m really pleased to hear that you found the cottage itself lovely, comfortable and well‑equipped, and that the location worked well for visiting Dartmouth. I’m very sorry, however, for the difficulties you experienced on arrival. We completely understand how frustrating it must have been when the property was hard to find, especially with Google Maps directing you to the wrong location. The new owners had indeed provided updated directions and a What3Words location, and I’m sorry that this information wasn’t passed on to you as it should have been. Your comments highlight that we need to ensure these details are shared consistently, and we will be reviewing our processes to prevent this happening again. I’m also sorry that the contact number you were provided with was out of date. This is not the experience we want any guest to have, particularly at the start of their stay, and we’re taking steps to make sure all property information is correct and up to date. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention — your feedback genuinely helps us improve the experience for future guests. If there’s anything you would like to discuss further, please feel free to reach out to us. Property Owner

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
